Not enabled.
Could you please disable VT-x in the BIOS , and then right click the word file to see whether the freeze will still happen?
Thank you very much
more secure !!! ,how ?
This version should now be in the corner of beta, And now I can not differentiate between them and CIS 8 BETA 2 , Most of the problems in the beta version found in the final version
How do you think if it is safe to use ???
Windows 8.1 x64
Untouched proactive settings.
Yep.
Yep.
HW virtualization.
Every time.
Exciting news! So when is the update to CIS Pro 8 for existing users of CIS Pro 7 projected release date?
Hi,
What’s the matter? What do you mean by defective?
I see no issue, everything looks good, AV detects them as Application.Win32.leakTest or Application.Unwanted because they are not real malware, just test tools.
It should be approx. 2 weeks maybe earlier.
Please note if you have upgrade from the CIS 6 series certain items may not work as they should.
There should be no problems with upgrade from CIS 7 series as most functions where already there.
For me upgrade from CIS 6 I know the Webfilter does not work
Dennis
Right.
Well, you know, I’d like to say something about what Comodo is doing because I believe they have chosen a right way…
First of all, I think this build is more secure than previous builds, because the default Auto-Sandbox level was set as partially limited and it was unreliable, malware could bypass it easily, who has forgotten? and it was not flexible too. But with CIS 8 the default Auto-Sandbox level is set as Fully Virtually, It’s more secure than before.
In addition, All unrecognized Apps won’t get sandboxed (just unrecognized Apps that they come from potentially dangerous sources will). So, I think it’s very good for beginner users because now there is a balance between security and convenience what beginner users want. And the Sandbox is more flexible than before as well.
Also for advanced users, they can switch to Proactive Security that is more secure as ever.
From my point of view, if the remaining issues get fixed then I’d call it a revolution in security software.
Some issues are very important and should affect almost all security products.
This new version is definitely a step forward in malware prevention. Congratulations on the new release.
well firefox was not the only one that at first run gave warning from comodo and I had to add it to trusted list. Internet explorer did twice and also comodo ice dragon that I use gave the same warning at first run by CIS 8.
The odd thing is that browsers that i test gave the warning while other applications I run, do not give any alerts. Its strange.
I agree with you on one point, which is that Sandbox become full virtual , But so far, for novice users not easy to use, and any errors from the user, even if it was a simple will lead to destroy fully system.
Also this version does not live up to be a final version it is full of critically bugs.
As you know that making the Sandbox; fully virtual, also has disadvantages of, such as:
1-Some of the software’s ability to control the on-screen(ransomware)
2- advanced software able to record keyboard clicks (keylogger)
3-Also Rat type of software, they were able to skip fully virtual Sandbox and put some malicious files in the user’s files,Where the malware , put the files in the real system and not in virtual system
This shows that the fully virtual, it contains many vulnerabilities
Both fully virtual and partially contain weaknesses
I believe this is a revolution. The users usually see themselves. there are many users that they never use security forums, they are not advanced users, or an average user too. They should be seen. what they need… what they want…my grandfather… my father… some friends of mine and so on… and yours, they often know nothing about security and security products, etc. I know that security is important for them, but convenience is important too. it’s what I see now with the new build, that’s it.
Some issues are very important and should affect almost all security products.Yes, of course, why not. but don't forget their security was affected by Partially Limited level!. And I know what you mean to say there are some issues but I'm not worried.
I agree and disagree too…
Anyway you can give me some malware via PM that they are able to bypass FV sandbox and I will give you a lot of malware that they can bypass PL level easily, to see which one is more secure…
Malware , I am talking about need to be controlled by a hacker to put the files, which wants to be moved file from his computer To the victim’s computer, This it will take coordination between you and the hacker
Anyway, I will send the sample, but you will not benefit from it, because it will relate only to the Internet, to waiting for orders hacker.
As I mentioned earlier each of the two modes have weaknesses.
Discussion point is: this version, which issued in early, and does not Comodo developers will fix most of bugs .
And also the new Sandbox and manner of work may confuse novice users, how will I know if the application will enter the Sandbox or not, also, for example, choose any protection last program, does not have the Sandbox , let bullguard If you run a file bat, even if strong will protect the system from destruction unlike Comodo if the application did not enter the Sandbox is given full freedom to work and then destroy the system
Better returns this version, the beta section because it is unstable or an update to resolve those problems
Hi!
Many complaints on 8 version. Urgently corrected.
And I’m talking about very, very simple malware that everyone can find them everywhere, not what a hacker can do…
As I mentioned earlier each of the two modes have weaknesses.
Could you tell me which one is more secure?
We can keep technical talking via private message.
Good luck
I think this would be a good idea
Please keep the discussion going. This is how I am getting convinced I should update. In the past I had a minor problem with an update, so I want to be clear of what to expect. I applaud those more daring than me. Now I am thinking: “Hmm… maybe with the new C.I.S. 8 I won’t get interrogated by COMODO when I try to run a batch file that I write because it does not know it.” :-
Thank you to all at COMODO and to those share their knowledge here.
With this CIS version installed, hardware info/diagnostic programs incorrectly detect the CPU on my system (Windows 7 x64). Attached are screens from Speccy, but RealTemp, CPU-Z and HWMonitor are also wrong. I tried to disable the Auto-sandbox, it didn’t help. Uninstalling CIS gets the detection back to normal.
