Thanks for replying. This is great news. Maybe CIS8 will not have the lag gui problems as it has on CIS7. Ill do a tryout on cis8 b2 and post my feedbacks here. But later. Now im at work…
I didnt test cis8b2 yet so I was not sure if the pool was for choosing default theme but without the themes to choose on beta stage. That was my concern. Now Im quite happy because I trully beleave that the majority of gui lags on cis 7 was because of the theme itself (resources, effects, etc).
working fine here in tech preview for a beta its working very well at least apears to!
Yeah, well, CIS is telling me there are 19 unrecognized files, but strangely the list is completely empty. So either CIS suffers form identity crisis, or this is a bug. A big one.
Oh, and the bug with Metro Redux is still there. Rolling back to v7.0.
Out of the box, How many interfaces do you have in your system? normally the MaxNumFilters is only an issue with e.g. a number of additional TAP or VPN interfaces.
CLT test - paranoid mode - sandbox enabled - Windows 7 (64-bit)
- sandbox - run isolated - failed - no antileak questions
- sandbox - run unlimited - failed - no antileak questions (passes if all blocking rules exist)
- sandbox - trust the app - run unlimited - failed - no antileak questions
- restart CLT - failed
- restart machine - passes after blocking antileak questions
Summary:
CLT is not trusted until machine is restarted. Once trusted, paranoid mode is fully operational and sandboxing is out of the picture
Addressing previous questions in this thread:
I did a clean install to see the new changes, not visible after upgrading. File submission seems to work, but I haven’t seen any files submitted yet. All my attempts have resulted in “already submitted”
P.S. I only installed CIS anti-virus
P.P.S. I reset the sandbox after each step 1-4
Can someone check if they can play youtube videos on Firefox 33 using adobe flash when sandboxed by comodo?
Thanks
CLT is only meant to test the HIPS component not the sandbox. To get acccurate results disable the sandbox.
i have 34 beta installed but i check it anyways, youtube videos played fine for me
I’m posting my CLT results because many people are familiar with this program. My points that I wanted to make are these:
-
I had to disable sand-boxing in the past because paranoid mode was not fully functional when sand-boxing was enabled. My biggest problem was programs making internet connections when there was no anti-leak rules to allow it. I don’t have to disable sand-boxing anymore.
-
Even after trusting a program, the program is still being sand-boxed until I restart my machine.
I’ve also noticed that protection is starting very late. I have untrusted start-up programs that are not being sandboxed, and there are no anti-leak rules for them. Actually, because of Windows 8, I’ve been expecting this. A while back, a suggestion was made for me to file a report for a start-up problem that I had, which I refused to do, knowing back then that this would be the outcome.
Thanks for letting me know.
@EricJH: try this http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html
And as before, after uninstalling beta, v 7.0 can’t be properly installed back. Great work, guys!
Thank you. I tried and the same thing happens. It looks like it is an issue with CIS 8 beta 2.
It’s recommended that you use the removal tool while switching between versions.
I’m using CIS since version 1. And never EVER I needed to use special tools to get rid of it. Properly coded software doesn’t even need it.
It is you start to use.
