COMODO Internet Security 5 BETA Wishlist

See if you like this idea:

There is. In the list of Sandboxed Applications right click on one of them and choose to add it to your trusted files. Doesn’t this work for you?

OK, I see that you can run CIS before rebooting. That way I can disable Sandbox and it won’t sandbox all my trusted apps.

Thanks,

A possible intreasting feature.

Let’s assume your using CIS with and/or AV. Now let’s say avast flags something but comodo didn’t. Comodo firewall or something should upload it to be automatically Analyzed. If it’s a false positive, it’ll ignore it. If it’s malicious, a signature will be created. So now anyone using comodo AV users can be protected against that specific attack and won’t have to download something else (like malwarebytes) to try remove that infection

What do you guys think of this idea (It’s just a rough idea)
:-TU

a purge button for the C:\VirtualRoot\
because it bicames bigger and bigger for all the application sandboxed it still collect temporary files here and we need to manual purge it every week
Even Sandboxie have a purge button for temporary files, Comodo no

I agree with you it’s easy to do and pretty useful.

I have the same suggestion for My Blocked Files: Suppose there are three folders that you normally keep locked, but use at times. The present method is, first, to search for those three folders in the chronologically arranged list, unblock them, and later add them again one by one.

If there was an option to make a list of those three folders, and save the list, so that you could just block / unblock the list with a single click instead of adding / removing individual entries.

Not sure if they’ll add this option in the future, but thanks for what there is at present: earlier I had to use a separate folder locking software. ;D

Hello Guy!, I hope that the right click context menu scanning will be included in the next Beta build. What I meant is, There should be an option in the context menu for known, safe and whitelisted files. This request it very easy to implement. Examples of whitelisted programs are Firefox,IE,Ccleaner and all other known safe files.Same with also the Sandbox Application option. Thanks Guys!

Full IPv6 support

I’ve installed beta and got disappointed there’s no IPv6 support. All modern firewalls have it except Comodo. I, for example, am having issues of Comodo not filtering IPv6 traffic (in local area, torrent programs such as uTorrent, etc). To be safe one has to disable IPv6 completely as Comodo support only protocol 41 right now. This would be my biggest wish.

Any of the wishes here is going to be added in CIS 5? or is going to have the same impact in the final product than the original wishlist? Comodo Forum

The 80% of the wishes here are already posted in the original wishlist and most of them are more than 3 or 4 months old.

1. Please provide full keyboard navigation and shortcuts

Like most visually impaired users, I tend to favour the keyboard over the mouse but in many cases CIS appears to provide a lack of keyboard navigation. A striking omission concerns the command buttons (Allow, block, etc) on alert popups. Although it is possible to tab to these buttons, it is not possible to activate them using the keyboard. Other controls on the same popups can be activated with the normal Windows’ shortcut keys, but sadly not those essential command buttons.

A further example is the lack of keyboard navigation around the top level tabbed interface.

This lack of keyboard navigation is a significant accessibility flaw which would make CIS unusable by blind users. I hope Comodo will take accessibility seriously and provide full keyboard navigation in a forthcoming release.

2. Please associate and audible signal with alert popups

A second useful feature would be an audible signal associated with alert popups. When using a screen magnifier the bottom right corner of the screen is rarely in view and hence it is very easy to miss an alert, or simply to wait for an application to respond, not realising that it has halted because an unseen alert has popped up. The audible signal would draw attention to this.

Wishlists are the path to disappointment sometimes… Developers open the channel to talk but we stay talking with nobody…

An exclusions button for Do heuristic command-line analysis.
I have lots of scripts in some folds. Run them and click don’t sanbox again is annoying.
However, they are always sandboxed.

They are wishes - there is no guarantee that they will be implemented or even commented on. The developers do read them, but, for good or bad, what they do with them is up to them.

In fairness, they are looking at the whole of the development environment and we are only looking at the output and generally from a single application perspective.
