why you uninstall a previous no major version before?

I never do that and my config is not lost. Except the animation traffic. i always uncheck and it’s rearm after an update… :frowning:

I uninstall and install last version. Problem continues.
Some strange firewall prompt appears from:
1-System → [ff02::16] - ICMPV6
2-System → 224.0.0.252 - IGMP
3-explorer.exe → 169.254.255.255 - UDP nbdgram(138)
4-explorer.exe → 169.254.255.255 - UDP nbname(137)

MSN Messenger v7.0 can’t connect and lan PCs can’t connect to google.es (but can connect to other webs like youtube).

Where can I donwload previous version of CIS?

I can try to understand the problem if you can send me your MSN messenger address.

I have 3 different address in hotmail, none of them works using MSN Messenger v7.0
Other PCs in the lan can’t connect to www.google.es

Hi,

PM sended.
I uninstall last version and install the previous 5.10.228257.2253 (MD5: 8ABA414B2BD3F48627D7871E6474EF21). Now it works perfect. I will not update to the 5.12 because very strange problems appears (rare connections to 255.x.x.x, 224.x.x.x, MSN messenger not works…).

Could it be a problem with the Windows 2000 compatibility mode? (my MSN messenger 7.0 is in win2k compatibility mode).
LAN PCs (with win2kSP4) now can connect to http://www.google.es. With 5.12 version can’t go to http://www.google.es, BUT can connect to https://www.google.es

Updated fine on Win 7 64.

The installer is again big now 93.5 MB.

Same problem here. different address
1-System → [ff02::16] - ICMPV6 only at startup
2-svchost → [ff02::c] - ICMPV6 only at startup or when connect a new device
3-many programs at random time during day → 224.0.0.22 IGMP

Win7 X64 no other security programs (only comodo with proactive security config)

Only a minor annoyance but any help will be appreciated

Is there any reason to update to this 5.12.256249.2599 version if you’re on Windows 7? Does it patch any vulnerabilities or fix any bugs for Windows 7 users?

2+1 reasons

  1. it was proposed by automatic updater
  2. I wish to migrate to windows 8 then i have to install compatible version before
  3. It wasn’t forbidden nor not advised :slight_smile:

Only joking but i would like to undestand why this behavior and if its possible to have the same problem after migration.

Well, as a wild guess, I think you should make sure “Enable IPv6 Filtering” is unticked. Also, since its asking to go out through ports 137 and 138, make sure your NetBIOS is disabled.

I would really like to see the release notes or change log for this 5.12 version of Comodo Firewall. Were there any vulnerabilities or bugs fixed?
