COMODO Internet Security 4 and Application Incompatibility Problems Reporting

That’s CIS version 3 if I am not mistaken. This thread is about V4.

Orthos wont run (gives a critical error) on windows xp 32 bit sp3 with latest CIS, even when both exe and dll are added to my own safe files

HDspeed not starting - Win7 64 Bit CIS 4.0.141842.828. He didn’t start even with D+ and sandbox disabled. Start only with CIS uninstalled.

Comodo 4.0.141842.828

Google Chrome (4.xxx and 5.xxx)

Comodo keeps blocking Google Chrome, i’m UNABLE to start Google Chrome, it starts incorrectly and when you set a page it FREEZES, it just shows nothing, never loads.
This have been for quite some months, i HOPE you guys FIX it :-
I’ve uninstalled Comodo 2 times already due to this, the first time i decided to wait some time to see if it was fixed, nothing, Second time reported it and waited +1 month and nothing, this time i’m reporting it here.

problem with max for live (ableton). Get error -6 by trying to open any max module. Error is long known by ableton and cycling 64. It doesn’t help to stop all comodo activities you have to completely uninstall.
Any chance to kill that bug or do I have to look for another Firewall?

cheers

Spyware doctor seems to not work properly on 64 bit systems with CIS 4

Have COMODO v4.0.141842.828 on Windows 7 x64

All works fine except one: LWEMon.exe (from Logitech drivers) constantly appears in D+ log.
I tried to add it to “my own safe files”, but receyve a message “LWEMon.exe is already a safe file”.
It not shows in safe files list. And I can to add it to blocked files, then try to add to safe. Message about “already a safe file” appears and file stays in BLOCKED until manually deleted.

Screenshot added.

Please forgive me for my poor English.

LameXP, it is a pain in the ■■■ to work with it! Sandbox is blocking it and when I disable it, D+ is giving me hell of a alerts. Fix this.

COMODO v4.0.141842.828 on Windows XP x64

DVD Shrink

V Downloader

Note that these 2 applications fail to start (DVD Shrink with a DEP error) even though Defense+ and the Sandbox are set to permanently disabled, in fact exiting Comodo firewall is still not enough to get them to run.

Only completely uninstalling CIS v4 will allow them to work (they worked fine with v3.14.130099.587).

I have had the same problem described here: http://www.md-trainers.info/modules.php?name=Forum&action=search2

You can use google translator to read it in english, the only way to fix the problem is unistalling comodo. Before uninstall comodo I tried: disabling the sandbox and defense + and runing the app as administrator and didnt work.

The application is this one: http://www.md-trainers.info/modules.php?name=CheatOverview&id_trainer=2

Maybe is not a very common app but fixing this problem you can also fix the same problem for other software.

I’ve used DVD Shrink with the newest version of CIS and it worked fine.

I’m running Windows 7 x64 with the sandbox disabled. Can you please provide some information about your system?

OS: Windows XP Pro x64 sp2 (NOT 7)
MoBo: Gigabyte EP45-DS3R
CPU: Intel Q9450 (Core 2 Quad)
RAM: 8GB DDR2 800

The problem exists on both real hardware and under Sun VirtualBox (v3.0.12)

  1. HDTach hard drive software
  2. DVDShrink

I can confirm that DVDShrink did not work. Since Comodo is currently uninstalled, I cannot say whether renaming the guardxx.dll or adding them to my safe files will fix the problem. However, I distinctly remember removing automatically sandbox apps option and would not have sandboxed this app. Will test later and edit this post.

  1. Old flightsims (Jane’s F/A-18 Installshield installer failed, Jane’s F-15 would not run, Jane’s Longbow 2 would not run). In the first 2 cases, deactivating the sandbox/D+ and renaming guardxx.dll did nothing. I had to nix Comodo entirely to get them to work.

It should be noted that #1, #2 and some items in #3 need compatibility modes to be applied to run properly. (And you’re already aware of the compatibility mode problem)

Windows 7 x64
(was running latest version of Comodo CIS 4.0, no antivirus/firewall only)

cis 4.0.141842.828
virus signature: 4864 (the AV reall time is disabled)

Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

GETRIGHT 6.3e from HeadLight Software will not be able to run if CIS is installed (tried to disable everything - no difference)

If I manually launch the application, Getright.exe will use 100% of one cpu core and never actually launch itself.

The only way to make it work is by re-installing it and let the install program run it at the end of the installation.
After this initial successful attempt, every other one will fail as described above.

I’ve tried everything, it’s a trusted application and there is no alert in D+ logs.

DVD Shrink works fine on XP 64 Bit using Comodo Internet suite version 3.14… I use it a lot and it works every time on version 3.14.

I have the same problem, but chrome does start and work for a while. Then the aw snap message pops up on every page, and my extensions crash. It could be that the latter leads to the former, but looking at the google page it seems not. Fix "Aw, Snap!" page crashes and other page loading errors - Computer - Google Chrome Help

Try this from the FAQ as a work around here.

I had to uninstall this latest version from my Windows XP computers. It won’t let me connect to my network and on my Toshiba netbook NB205 it won’t allow the Toshiba Power Saver application to work properly.

When I upgraded to CIS 4 (from 3.), Corel WinDVD BD, no longer opens or does anything. Disabling the firewall and antivirus didn’t solve the problem; I had to uninstall CIS 4. Now WinDVD works, but I don’t have a firewall. Any suggestions?

Try this here.

Best wishes
