Trouble with this is that during a clean installation there’s no firewall. What’s the point of trying to install protection whilst being unprotected? 88)
Agree with you. During the install I was conntected to the internet (before and after reboot) and I get Threatcast rating.

Is the news or roadmap in Windows 7 support ?
Did initial “clean” install offline and the result was no Threatcast. Solution was after I was online I went into “Miscellaneous”, clicked “Settings”, then went to the “Threatcast” tab and enabled “Threatcast” again. I then rebooted computer and voila I have Threatcast ratings and all is good! ;D :-TU
Everything is working here like a champ! Threatcast, Virus database current and fast scans!

That’s not entirely true, if you install CIS while having a working internet connection it will register itself to TC while installing, if you are doing an offline install it will try to register everytime cfp.exe starts (the GUI component) so it should be working regardless of online/offline install.
Good news. 15 hours and no lockup. I can consider my problem fixed. It was to be expected from so much revamping. Umm question. Why isn’t 3.9 on the official page? Only the release notes points to 3.9. Clicking DOWNLOAD still offers the 3.8 setup.

Just tried Check for Updates and get the message: “Error 108: update could not be completed. Please check your internet connection settings.”

Any idea as to what’s wrong?
Something I noticed (maybe just me :-\ ) but may be usefull to others in a similar situation. Installed CIS 3.9 on my work computer (Vista in a windows domain) and it took ages to get to the desktop. Ages as in “roughly” 10-15 mins. It did finally logon but I was getting a little worried :o. Once logged on (first time), boots into the desktop fine now.
