COMODO Internet Security 3.9.73525.491 BETA Released! [CLOSED]

just updated CIS but its still 489 version

just got another update & all is well .great job guys

That’s odd, I had to update twice as well. I checked the version after the first update and it was still unchanged. After updating a second time (both requiring system reboot), I now have version xxx.491. 88)

I don’t know if this is a bug, but it never happens before and I didn’t make any change in my system but v491:

I left FW in “Block All Mode” for about 20 min and when I came back my PC was in a “freeze” state, mouse moves only, no clicks and no keyboard.

Reset was the only way out.

Can anyone else check this, please?!

Thanks.

edit: wasn’t due to DHCP/Dinamic IP. Next renew was to be in 2h.

Glad you noticed it Monkey_Boy. It pretty much is the quitest Default Deny Protection ™ for the security it offers out there, period! Once again we have widen the gap between us and the rest by making CIS novice friendly. Of course as you guys testing this beta, we have finalised the plans for next 3.9 version (yep one more 3.9 release) and the ultimate ver 4… The amount of innovation going into ver 4 is going to be awesome! (no dates for either yet).

thanks

Man… you know how to increase anxious! So quiet…
That’s what a real revolutionary mind should do!

And I don’t even think about asking what’s comming next… Let me enjoy this! (and learn/evolve a lot!)

Accept my BEST wishes.

THANK YOU! :-TU

There is no such thing as web cam logging. It just accesses the webcam and uses it. Thats what msn or Skype do. If wanted, this can be intercepted by modifying protected files list in CIS. But its unnecessary.

It’s running well for me so far. I have two questions:

  1. Is it still necessary to install in Vista compatibility mode if using Windows 7?
  2. What is the difference between “On Access” & “Stateful” in the AV component?

thanks

Hi.

Thanks !
Work great for the moment.

Works great here. Too bad CAS is not workable otherwise this combination would be perfect

Thanks for posting in hibernated in the middle of the first update so I thought this was the reason.
It appears you need two updates to succeed.
Thanks
Dennis

update angain i’m sure it will works like mine successfully updated to 491

Why did my Beta version update? What were the benifits of it or the fixed bugs? Thanks Eggman for all your hard work.

What a beauty
Anyone would think that this is a final.
The earlier beta had a few bugs but this is great.
Thanks
Happy Easter

Whats the difference between stateful & on access scanning? I know it says stateful is better for performance, but what else is different?

See here

On-Access is what we have been using.
Stateful examines the files as we use them The first time an app is run it is scanned (on-access). As long as the file has not changed, no further on-access scanning is performed, speeding up loading of the program. This can be noticed with IE when you run it the first time and compare running it again.

Thats awesome, whats more, it works as a temporary work around for the defrag issue until its fully resolved.

Compliments of John Buchanan

Addig files to lists not working at me :.

E.g. i choose a file to add to quarantine at the AV part, no files in the quarantine but i see the action in the log; same applies to the pending files list. What can be the problem?
