Here my Bug. . .

my OS is VISTA 32 HOME EDITION, when I click CONFIGURATION during SCANNING of CRITICAL AREAS, CIS is not working… I wait for 30+ minutes for CIS to run but it closes automatically. when I Open CIS, I hit Scan again but… Scanner fails to start again…

Minor bug I noticed

You can’t pause a virus scan. Well you can PRESS the pause button, but it doesn’t stop CAVS from scanning!

Duration still goes on.

File # should stop though. Works fine here. XP SP3.

Josh

Oh ok nevermind…

It does still scan several files before completely stopping, I don’t think its a bug. Haha…

(B)

OK… I finally made up my mind, its definitely a bug. Sometimes it pauses sometimes it doesn’t. A few times when I pressed on resume it wouldn’t resume. I corrected it by pressing pause again, and than resume.

I would ask people to pause their scans a few times to see if their CIS doesn’t do what its suppose to do.

Thanks

Really great! CIS seems to perform beautifully!

Are you able to edit the virus scan profiles, though? When I press the edit button nothing happens. Surely not a bug, I was just curious…

First the answers to the questions above

  1. Vista home premium SP1
  2. only CIS full install
  3. Start a full virus scan
  4. no way to resolve
  5. no memory dumps
  6. screenshot does not add extra info to this case
  7. n/a

now here is the bug

Memory use continually rises while scanning.
After 22 minutes cmdagent.exe is at 572MB

Memory use rises with about 100kb per second (it actualy rises and falls between 8kb and 1mb but on average it rises 100kb/s)

Possibly a second bug i see, the scan is not using a lot of CPU, on average 25 %.
is the scan really not that CPU intensive or is there a bottleneck somewhere?

I asked myself the same, post this in the bug area… (B)

Found a bug with the game “Mabinogi”

This has to do with Defense+ and this bug is also present in the current version of the standalone firewall. When starting Mabinogi when the anti-cheat module is loading the system will reboot automatically. If you completely disable Defense+ and reboot with Defense+ disabled then the game will begin fine.

So there is a conflict with Defense+ somewhere.

Have you tried making the anticheat program a trusted software vendor?

I notice that you can edit a profile that you create. The default profiles aren’t editable.

Went to my EvID 4226Patch223d folder , before I can say what the h**k, CIS deleted the exe before my eyes.
OK, It’s not in quarantine folder. I will not get into debate about this patch, flag it ,do whatever, but do not simply delete anything from anyones pc without there consent.Your asking for trouble if you flag, delete a key OS file, and yes fp’s happen.

Regards

  1. Windows xp Home SP3
  2. only CIS full install
  3. Start a full virus scan
  4. no way to resolve
  5. no memory dumps
  6. screenshot does not add extra info to this case
  7. n/a

Memory rises very fast, On boot up Cmdagent is roughly 24,000k and after 5 mintes of scanning (Still going up) It is 168k,000k

EDIT:: If I leave the computer Idol for about 5-10 mins cmdagent will drop to normal, And scanning speeds are normal too.

Kyle, maybe you have a lot of archives ? It’s normal that the memory usage climbs up, because CIS has to unpack them into memory (RAM)

no, After scanning it was up to 670mb I’m using default settings. I closed scan window, checked task manager cmdagent jumped down to 4,000kb

You mean, no archived games or music or something ? In that case - there’s a memory leak in CIS

Yes, I disabled scanning of archives etc from the settings and did another 2 scans, Mycomputer\Critical area’s, Still high mem usage during both - Also the cmdagent at Boot up is 24mb
I also restart the computer everytime I make a change (Just to be sure)

EDIT:: Even disabling the anti virus component in CIS does not do anything.

This is a picture from start up

Having same problem here. Over 600MB of memory being used during my scan.

CIS scans fine here. Very low memory usage  Only has some problems with updating. O lot of times the update stops at 30 % 88)

Heh my updating works fine, but the scanning uses way to much memory!

Oh well, its fun reporting bugs. (:WIN)
