COMODO Internet Security 3.11.108364.552 Released

Great new version! :-TU (:CLP) (V)
And the updates…under 2 minutes for the whole DB. :-TU

It is not very easy to get signature database update after install this new release. I try 3 days, and never get success. Looking at current connection under firewall tag, byte in source IP 208.116.13.67:80 and hang at around 547kb, then stop byte in. don’t know why.

Please try a clean install and try again. When the problem persists start a topic in Anti virus Help and we will try to solve it.

Are you on dial up? If so next time use the following trick: https://forums.comodo.com/empty-t44417.0.html

??? Just got the update 3.11.108364.552 but safe surf is still on my toolbar. I thought this was to go away with the introduction of bio clean? Thought it was to be replaced with hop surf? Safe surf disappeared from my desktop on the last update.

Safe Surf should be gone by now. When it is still around you should uninstall it. The memory firewall is now integrated in CIS and having both of them work together can cause problems.

Instead of Safe Surf there now is the optional Hop Surf toolbar which has a search field for Ask.

BOClean is also integrated in CIS.

Sorry to hear others are having a problem with the speed of the update.
Mine was a snap, and I have the slowest (read: cheapest) DSL from my ISP. No problems after a day’s use.
Thanks, Comodo!

Thanks, I use wireless connection. Now I change to line connection. It improves a lots.

Recent update gave me a “come back” of the issue I had with a previous version of CIS - terribly delayed windows startup and resources usage (at startup)

Please refer to the last posts and not to the topic title.

Safe surf is gone from my desk top and from my programs but the safe surf tool bar is still there. How do I upgrade just my tool bar? I have IE and Fire Fox. Running windows vista sp2 32 bit.

To uninstall Safe Surf toolbar go to Control Panel → open the list of installed Programs → uninstall Safe Surf toolbar from there.

Why is it that when I uninstall my previous version then install this version it doesn’t do a scan for malware before it restarts?

Also after the restart I noticed none of my settings were saved yet it doesn’t prompt for any actions at all on any of the programs I have installed. Normally after I do a fresh install I have to go the through the hassle of answering the various notifications but this time not a single notification came up. What gives?

There is no safe surf tool bar. There is an COMODO/ASK tool bar of which safe surf is a part of. If I uninstall that COMODO doesn’t get any revenues from my searches, tried to update it from the browsers tools but couldn’t.

You can manually install Hopsurf toolbar which has Ask search field. Hopsurf is the new toolbar that comes with CIS. Get it from here: http://www.hopsurf.com/ .

There is also a Hopsurf sub forum here: https://forums.comodo.com/hopsurf_bringing_internet_to_you-b175.0/ .

This release has bugs and needs patches and windows XP Home edition SP3 Freeze up really badly

Same problem here! :frowning:

It may be related to this: https://forums.comodo.com/other_general_gui_etc_bugs/conflict_cis_311108364552_and_wu_kb970653-t44469.0.html;msg321568#msg321568

I have XP Home and Professional SP3 with the Daylight Savings Time (KB970653) update on a laptop and a desktop pc. There have been no problems as stated above. Since not everyone is having these problems, it must be something specific to your particular system.

Yeah, a Microsoft operating system!

Many thanx to:-

For the tip concerning re-use of Bases.CAV, was about to not bother installing
v3.11 after reading of 100MB AV DB download, a bit tedious on mobile broadband
which only gives a reaonable D/L after midnight (when most mobile phones go to
sleep). after re-installing old Bases.CAV, only took a couple of seconds to do the
update. Again, many thanx, much distress avoided.
