Isn’t it just great that this has gone from 1 to 2 days, to 1 to 2 weeks, to no word at all? Comodo is STILL serving up the installer with the revoked certificate on their website. Is this creating trust online? Any bad reputation Comodo is getting from this is 100% earned. Even for the free users it’s unacceptable to leave them in a state where they can’t even use the uninstaller to remove the product. Here, use this really old removal tool that doesn’t remove everything. This is class action lawsuit type behavior.

Will this issue be addressed like the CIS update that took almost three years?
Could it be that Comodo now also aims to offer more diversity than competence?
I installed Win 11 24h2, all my programs and settings and spared CIS until the end, trying to install it and when the “cmdhtml.dll” popped up, I thought that Windows Security caused the problem, short version of the story : Because of your “unsigned” problem, I messed up my whole system and have to do everything again…

I can understand that free product is not a top priority, but leaving for so long the users in a similar situation for a problem that doesn’t require any effort and can be solved simply rebuilding it with a valid certificate, is totally crazy, even for the most lazy deprioritized approach possible.
This would be enough to harm reputation even for a side project of an amateur developer, let alone for a company with its core business focused on cybersecurity.
So what is really going on?
Is there some other undisclosed reason that prevents them to rebuild it with a valid certificate?

As of today, at the company I work for, Comodo was removed from the evaluation process for endpoint security solutions. The reason was directly listed was this certificate issue and an apparent inability to correct it… It is frustrating, as I and another Engineer recommended adding it to the eval list originally, so now w’ere kind of eating crow on it. Sadly, Comodo had a lot going for it, license pricing and other features were appealing, but thats been thrown out due to the lack of communication, and apparently no Corrective Action Plan. Whats really puzzling is, new certs arent rocket science, and signing a new installer (et all) is easy. Only things I can think of is maybe some critical flaw in the product was discovered, and its hush-hush, or they are concerned with bandwidth usage by so many having to re-download.

In fact, if the problem is not the certificate, it was a failure in the CIS, this is even worse for all of us.
I don’t know what to do anymore, I don’t know what to think anymore, I don’t know if the product is more reliable.
All this because there is no more concrete answer to what is happening.
All the dates that were given that normality would return with the new certificate were all not met.
What should we do, uninstall the product and look for another program to replace it?
Can anyone tell me what would be the best option for security?

they also offer free firewall and you can also add the free antivirus to the firewall… well Comodo was always my first choice but zonealarm was my 2nd

It is not necessary to uninstall the product unless you want to use something else.
CIS is the best option for security, but maybe not for beginners, for example: because of the certificate issue.
Those who are skilled with it still can install it.

may can I ask you, if you config it right .i.e comodo also needs to beconfiged right to get the highst protections, and its better for those who now can’t install CIS to have ZA than notthing, I guess you agree at that ? btw weird user name , three possible ways, you are a cruel sister or you have one, or its from a media/book/movie/game…sry, but Iam just courious…

Better someone with a “strange” name but helpful and supportive contributions and intentions (here also both enlightening and corrective and showing security) than flowery names with “destructive and unsettling” or bashing intentions. There are “very good” examples of this in another forum.
There is a German proverb: names are smoke and mirrors. I’ve never thought about names before. Cruelsister made a video that doesn’t require any additional settings for protection.

I have doubts or uncertainties about the security and usability of CCS. Without CCS I still feel insecure about handling sensitive data, e.g. in online banking.
Am I still safe from keyloggers, malware, etc. with Secure Shopping like I was in all the years before?
Cruelsister deactivates CCS (???). Am I also safe on the desktop with CIS 2025 without a virtual desktop (screenshots, keyloggers, etc.) or do I need the virtual desktop, which doesn’t work as smoothly for me as secure shopping, i.e. CSS. I haven’t been able to find a clear answer to that yet, rather a confusing one.

Regarding Zone Alarm, it is one of the few applications that are true “Set and Forget” (as mentioned in the video); with no other tweaks available to be made.
As to my name, it was given to me by my Brother- he seemed to find it amusing for some reason.
