I just disagree that it is an inherent flaw, drivers need to be signed otherwise you’re going back to the XP days of unsigned malware running in the kernel, the potential to have malware being signed by a hacked certificate would take us back to that. Either way, I think everyone can agree that the blame should be placed solely at the feet of Comodo, for something that should take a day or two at most has turned into 20+ day dumpster fire. Insanity.

Solution:
Reinstall the operating system without an internet connection, then install cis, then connect to internet.
(Without an internet connection, the operating system cannot check the certificate to see if it has been revoked or not.)
(For windows 11 will need the oobe\bypassnro trick.)

All in all, I wonder whether this forum is really useful for Comodo…
Because it exposes all the bugs and malfunctions that malicious people could take advantage of…
In fact, no matter what anyone says, someone could end up taking advantage of this certificate problem, it’s already been done.
Perhaps reporting bugs should only be done directly to the technical teams and not in the public arena, given the slowness of resolution, no?

It all depends on how quickly the respective teams see the above issues and fix them. I’m talking generally about all communities here. If they are fast then it’s a wonderful way to quickly fix users issues, if they are slow then it’s a huge liability as you’ve mentioned above.

what i really think is that comodo is a dying company. All the consumer products are non installable since 3 or more weeks and they did absolutely nothing. They don’t care. I think they will go out of business or simply they will abandon the consumer side only to focus on enterprise one where you can charge the same software behind a different name for 10x or more the price.

I don’t think this story is possibly negative.
Let’s not forget that Melih Abdulhayoglu himself created the “Certification Authority Browser Forum” (An internationally renowned organisation) and was thus able to demonstrate just how important this subject was to him.
‘As of May 2022, the consortium includes 54 certificate issuers, 11 certificate consumer vendors, and industry standards and audit bodies including the European Accredited Conformity Assessment Bodies‘ Council (ACAB’C), the WebTrust Task Force, and the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI)[1]’.
He’s at the heart of all this, which just goes to show how much he knows about the subject and how important it is to him.
He would never accept a slap in the face on a subject that he promotes throughout the world and the entire profession.
On the other hand, as the head of a substantial fortune (1.8 billion dollars) and having always said that he would support and continue to support Comodo CIS, we can believe him without difficulty, because that’s what he’s always done.
Having said that, we can assume that the problem does not come directly from Comodo, unless Melih is no longer a shareholder or director.
At the moment, nobody has said that the man who supported Comodo the most is no longer at the helm of the ship, have they?
So I wait patiently and sleep soundly.
The only problem is the lack of communication on the subject and, for those who pay for Comodo CIS Pro, the loss of one month’s use out of a paid year.
But, hey, Comodo CIS is for aficionados… we’re sticking with it, come what may!

What in gods name? They sabotage their own user base?
In this age of conspiracy theories, where 90% of them have ended up being true btw, I have a theory what they might be up to… So they updated the cleaning tool (meant for business users?) fast and they prohibit any new installations, which makes me ask, do they want to end their freeware software? Economically destructive for them to give out freebies? ESG demands bankruptcy?
We need Mulder and Scully to reveal the truth behind this mystery, in this episode of X-Files.

I know that Melih has a personal blog. And in this case, if he ever published on the migration of wild geese in autumn, I’m not really interested at the moment.
Personally, I wanted to know why his page at Comodo.com and only at Comodo died. It’s not reassuring (I know, o, we still need him for reassurance).
What webmaster would dare leave the big boss’s page dying?
Given the speed with which people who want to express themselves clearly on this blog are expelled and evicted, what are we to make of the fact that this page is left empty?

Personally, I have another conspiracy theory… :
The person with the ‘Melih’ profile on this blog may no longer be the real Melih.
Otherwise, at the very least, the Comodo page would link to his personal blog.
On the other hand, if the real Melih wanted to close Comodo, he would have done so already.
So I think the real Melih is working on his projects and keeping an eye on his baby (Comodo) from time to time, and the solution to this problem will be found soon, but it’s not his top priority at the moment.
I think it’s time to realise that if Comodo is still alive (for our pleasure and happiness (yes, yes)), it’s only according to his goodwill and if he decides to put his hand in his pocket when necessary.

Melih please enlighten us. Will CIS 2025 receive a new certificate and if the answer is yes when can we hope that it will be issued? This waiting without information becomes difficult to bear.
