its an uninstall and install process for the beta vs an upgrading from the upgrade path…
I asked the team to opine as well.
A Modern Dark Theme would be nice.
A very interesting feature request.
In my testing of the Final Beta with IPv6 filtering enabled, I see a number of blocks for programs connecting out. But I’ve since discovered this is just CIS protecting you before all the components are loaded.
Summary
MS Edge and Firefox get blocks for TCP HTTPS Protocol Outbound to Port 443, UDP DNS to port 53, SSDP UDP out to 1900. There are also blocks for Neighborhood solicitation (ICMP Outbound type 135,0. The browsing runs fine without issue so I just ignore the log but maybe something that needs adding to the firewall rulesets (e.g. HTTP to be set to TCP and UDP and the same for DNS)
The Installer startup entry is still there after uninstallation.
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
The drivers in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore are still leftover after uninstallation and the ciscleanuptool_x64 Old v3.0.0.41.exe doesn’t remove these so have to be done manually.
Hi,
Why is the “Downloads” folder in exceptions. During testing, malware remains untouched, conclusions from many tests. You can fix this so that Downloads folder is protected by default.
I am interested in the Modern theme, because I think it is the best.
When is the final? They promised at the end of January or beginning of February. It’s already April.
Will there be a firewall-only option for Comodo 2024 by chance? I use another AV program and web threat software. I’m only interested in the HIPS and firewall features.
Thank you!
They didn’t mention the year, though.
Considering the time frame of the betas and their announcements, I wouldn’t expect the final version to hit sooner than late April/early May. The wheels of development turn slowly at Comodo, and the final beta was only released on the last day of February after all.
I just hope we’ll finally get VPN filtering in CIS 2025, and that it’ll come out sometime before 2027… or at least not much later.
It’s there, you just need to deselect Antivirus in Installer Options
Comodo Group employees, answer my question about protecting the “Downloads” folder. I’m not the only one waiting.
Less of the attitude please as you won’t like mine.
Generally speaking, for some time now, on this planet, it’s been a time of threats…
it would be cool to bring back the simplest and most basic wishes of users to dreams that come true, without taking it the wrong way.
Because CIS Comodo is so loved, it’s eagerly awaited.
And you can be sure that some of our comments have already been favorably received by those concerned.
Customers also drive product progress
No as sometimes it’s not what you say it’s the way you say it.
Anyway that’s enough of that, as you were…
Personally, what I know is that I’ve been using Comodo since the very beginning, but really the very, very beginning, and it hurts to see the appreciation it got in the PC Mag test.
As you can see, the rating was 1,5 out of 5.
That’s not good at all.
It’s not about being like in soccer and getting behind the team no matter what. It made some of us want to get out on the pitch and cheer on the coaches as much as the players…
As moderators, of course, you perceive things, but others within the teams perceive something else. They understand that there are people behind them. People who have a different analysis of what’s going on, and who absolutely must pass it on. The more multi-sectoral the intelligence, the more likely it is that something will stick…
Did you know that some of my beta version bug files were several gigabytes in size?
Personally, I’ve even stopped reporting all the bugs so as not to harm the brand. I’ve even stopped coming to this forum so often, because I tell myself that if they ever manage to make the program 64-bit and remove the bugs that were already there before this beta version, that might be enough to satisfy me
So I would have preferred you to have seen me as a driving force behind Comodo’s evolution, rather than anything else…
You do realize that all these “reviewers” will get the highest score for the highest bidder. I do not need their reviews to use a specific product, and nobody should need it because every user has his specific ways of using an internet security product, thus subjectivity.
I used Comodo Internet Security for a long time and I never had any problems with my windows installation, never got “infected”, it never crashed, it did his job perfectly. The only problem I had with it was from time to time when it was not able to update, problem which was basically created by connectivity particularities at that moment.
You do know that my message above wasn’t about you but about why I said what I did to megaherz.
Once again what I said wasn’t about you directly, it was me describing to you why I said what I did to the above poster. I hope we can now put this conversation to bed.
What relation? If this is an answer addressed to me.
Completely and totally my experience and I don’t need any reviews from anywhere and I still use Comodo, no matter what PCMAG writes. But of course this does not cast a good light on comodo. PCMAG’s opinion is more important than the opinion of users.
