As far as I’m concerned, and to sum up: There is nothing to complain. Everything runs very well (as usual before) and once more: Many thanks!
Now I only wait for the final version. :-TU

Will there be a final version?
Isn’t this the final one already? ???
Oh, yes, your right!
In my mind, I assumed I was still in the beta-thread! ???
Hello CISfan,
Thank you for reporting.
FYI : After the complete analysis of the issue let me return back to you.
Have a nice day!
Thank you Dharshu.
Have a nice day too!
i just noticed windows firewall enabled itself,
i saw it after looking at update history in windows settings when i saw i got an update for windows defender.
when i installed comodo it disabled itself.i wonder what enabled t again suddenly.
i now disabled it manually and will check it again regularly after using the pc a while and after a reboot.,and also see if i can find any clues in event viewer.
should i disable it in advanced windows firewall since i see that after manually disabling it,the domain firewall is still on,or maybe in Services. or just leave it as it is since I’ve had no issues with it being on and in "windows security it’s Comodo that is shown as being the main Firewall.?
see reply #76 item 2.
i think that in item 2. she is talking about CF,i have CIS;
so i don’t mind leaving windows firewall along CF,but when she advise on having defender on too, isn’t that meant for people with only the CF and no other protection?
nickfree, I think if security center reports that comodo antivirus is active, as in the image below, you should be OK. Or are you seeing something different.
Nick- With either CF or CIS, leave Windows Defender enabled. There really isn’t a valid reason to disable it.
When you have CIS installed Windows will switch off Windows Defender when the registration of the AV component of CIS with Windows Security Center is successful. I don’t want Defender to run along CIS if it were only that it is bloody heavy on system resources.
For the firewall we advice to let the Windows Firewall Service to run as it is needed when sharing files and folders over the local network. You can disable Windows Firewall.
As to running Windows Defender side by side with CIS I never tested if they interfere negatively.
[at]CommodoUser2019 I’m seeing the same as in your picture

i have no idea what made windows firewall turn on suddenly,i always make sure it’s off after installing CIS.
and usually windows would skip the defender/malware definition update,so i was surprised seeing i got an update for it:“Security intelligence updates for Windows Defender Antivirus” so i went immediately and check the windows firewall status and it was on.
right now i disabled it in the simple setting: “private network” and “guest or public network” as i always did,and left in on in the advanced setting:“domain profile”.
and the defender scanner is off in the windows 10 settings under ‘virus and threat protection’.
that’s what i always did but am mostly intrigued by the sudden activation of the windows FF.
For me, CF is more than sufficient protection. I don’t use antivirus, including Windows Defender & keep WD/Windows Firewall disabled in Group Policy on Win 10 Pro.
Occasionally, Windows Security Center detects CF as disabled & enables Windows Firewall (It is the reason I disable WF in Group Policy). If I remember correctly, just changing the Basic or Advanced mode of CF triggers the WSC to detect CF as enabled.
Now, I don’t use CF as I’m tired of waiting for the “Ask” option for AutoContainment.
This is what happened when I tried CIS latest version.
Sometimes CAV can’t register in Windows Security Center even if it’s running. When this happens, Windows Defender will be re-activated and will be running side by side with CAV, thus resulting in slowdowns.
About the FW, CFW takes a while to register in Windows Security Center; so, even if CFW is working, Windows Security Center will show Windows Firewall as the only active firewall until CFW registers.
After that, both the firewall will be active and running side by side without any negative effects.
You can check it in two ways:
[ol]- Open Windows Security Center → click “Settings” in the left-low corner → click “Manage providers” under “Security providers”
You should see Comodo Antivirus turned on and Windows Defender turned off, while both Comodo Firewall and Windows Firewall should be turned on
Same problem happens to me with 32 bit Windows 10.
I am awaiting feedback from Dharshu after all the tests and files provided in PM.
With the 6882 no problem.
I hope they will resolve with a patch on this release. ![]()
12.1.0.6914 was a disaster for me so I’ve been using 6882 for a while, up until now.
Let’s hope this version is more stable, so far haven’t really encountered any issues. Installed it the normal way I do (Uninstall Comodo > Restart > Uninstaller Tool, requires 2 restarts > Install new version).
I don’t really use Security Center for anything and ignore any Even Viewer warnings since neither of them affect how Comodo functions, for me at least. Plus Windows 10 LTSC since 2019 means less Microsoft nonsense breaking softwares for me through updates.
There isn’t really an issue with CIS and security center integration, it is Windows that is using the wrong security provider info from WMI that is the issue. If you run this command you will see duplicate entries belonging to Comodo. It seems the older invalid entries for the previous versions of CIS prior to 12.2 are still within the wmi database. Uninstalling normally and using the uninstaller tool doesn’t completely remove them. You can do so manually or reformat Windows.
powershell.exe Get-WmiObject -Namespace root\SecurityCenter2 -Class AntiVirusProduct for AV provider and to list firewall provider replace -class with firewallproduct.
Yesterday I did a clean install of Windows 10 2004 (19041.84) and this build. The problem with the ghost tray icon has happened here once in approximately five Windows sessions.
@ futuretech. How do you manually delete or uninstall the old CIS entries in the WMI database?
I don’t think it’s Microsoft’s fault. It has never happened with all the other security softwares I’ve tried: Avast, Kaspersky, Panda, Forticlient, Webroot, Qihoo…
Same thing too … I only have problems with this version of CIS. ![]()
