We are pleased to announce that Comodo Internet Security 2019 v12.1.0.6914 RC is now available for download and testing.
Setup Details:
In order to install online setups, please ensure you have following entries in Windows hosts (c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts) file:
Windows messaging on every start that their Firewall is not active (which it isn’t) and shows that no other Firewall is active (which Comodo is). Nothing shows in Diagnostics and no other errors apparent
The new CIS RC didn’t disable it as previous versions have. After a while I turned it off myself knowing that CIS is functioning as it should. Ignore the message once and it doesn’t reappear
I may well try another clean install tomorrow to see what happens after a complete ‘official’ uinstall
“service microsoft defender antivirus” not disable (boot slowdown);
system guard alert “microsoft antivirus” disable;
this may induce the user to enable windows defender protection and slow down the PC
Further completely clean install and no change in the Security Centre messages on every start that their Firewall is not active (which it isn’t) and shows that no other Firewall is active (which Comodo is). Nothing shows in Diagnostics and no other errors apparent
Still the KillSwitch install Error 5 - Access Denied
Tried it as an upgrade (just to see), but all it did was uninstall 6882 and then nothing further, although that could well be due to the fact I use a RAM Drive for my Temp folder on this test system and nothing would remain after a reboot to continue the upgrade!
Reinstalled 6882 for the time being which gets on famously with the Security Centre
CIS won’t get registered or recognized as being installed in WDSC because Windows prevents the cmdagent protected service from starting. For some reason Windows can not verify the digital signature that cmdagent is signed with even though the digital signature tab in file properties reports that the digital signature is OK. Open up services and try to manually start the cmdagent protected service to see the error message.
Another issue is the option to allow contained applications access to the clipboard does not go into affect, even after the required reboot when you enable the setting under containment settings.
