COMODO Internet Security 2013 v 6.0.260739.2674 released!

I like v.6, but Comodo should update this information: Internet Security Products

Don’t worry they will update everything …

Hungarian language is not supported? ???

And Spanish???

How do you choose proactive? Should I enable hips?

Eric I am on Win7 with SP, kiosk and svchost are in sandboxed apps but nothing appears.

Please see How to Install Comodo Firewall.

Thanks for the new version of CIS, but this version (as where some previous) is rushed to release. There are too many bugs.
Application ruleset - treat as web browser doesn’t work in windows 7 x 64
Importing virus database fails also.

PS: There where 15 pages of bug reports with last beta. Two more beta versions would be welcome.

To Melih and Co.:
Why was this release rushed from beta to final?

I hope that will be released as soon as the automatic update (from 5.9 to 6) but also the Italian language.

I recommend you do soon! ;D

Thank you!
Nunzio.

thanks a lot and congratulations!

Thanks chiron also I know its best to run browser sandboxed which I did in v5 partially limited would fully virtualized be a better option? Why have hips if you disable it?

Fully virtualized is even safer than partially limited for running browsers.

For your second question, what is called the HIPS for V6 is essentially the manual HIPS. The automatic HIPS is included in the behavioral blocker. It’s a little confusing, but if you have any other questions please feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to explain.

Thanks.

+1. :-\ I want to know as well.

The customizable task bar saved my day!

Without the forum i might not have found it

The new interface really needed that feature. There should be a little hint about that function (one time).

Thanks again chiron one last question I run opera if I fully virtualize it is there any way of keeping extensions and update them if I reset sandbox? The only way I know is to unsandbox it to do as above.

  1. What happens if i am in the kiosk, then i double click the virus that wipes hard drives?

  2. If you disable the auto sandbox, the interface summary says: Behaviour Blocker Off. Does this mean: Sandbox is off, or did i disable the hips? Also, there are other settings on the page where you disabled the sandbox. Like command line analysis. Are they disabled as well as what “Behaviour blocker disabled” says (even if they are still enabled on the page)?

  3. With manual hips do you mean: Defense+ with questions, but without sandbox?

I’m not sure. I don’t often run my browsers fully virtualized. However, you could always update the extensions outside of the sandbox and then run the newly updated browser inside the sandbox.

Sorry, hopefully someone else has an easier solution.

This will only be able to affect the virtualized files. Thus, after resetting the sandbox everything should be fine.

The behavioral blocker is essentially the automatic HIPS. What is known as the HIPS is essentially the manual HIPS.

As per whether those options would still work I’m not sure. Hopefully someone else can explain that.

By manual HIPS I mean the portion of Defense+ which asks questions that need to be answered. For the behavioral blocker the only popups that you will receive are notifications that an application has been sandboxed and, if applicable, the unlimited rights popup. Any other popups would belong to the Firewall or the manual HIPS component.

Congratulations on this release !

In reading comments here, did give me a suggestion for for future releases and a question.

In the future keep the beta process quiet and unknown until the Public RC release.

There are many thoughtful and capable users that a mod could privately invite to help with the beta testing (this would be based on several considerations by the moderators Help in finding and working in solving bugs, How they post here, and especially keeping all information about the beta tests private until the Public RC release.

The RC release is when we would start to get posting here about bugs.
There were TOO many “why is it taking so long” and now a few “it is TOO Soon for a Final version”.
I also would have liked at least 1 RC or 3 if needed.

If we don’t know what is being developed 80-90% of the process will have been completed before the RC release and the Public help in finding most of the remaining bugs (not all bugs can be found.)

Now my question, will there be 2 versions? We are talking about 6.* 2013 here but in one of the earlier posts it was mentioned about updates to 5,* to be released later ?

Knowing the job is never over
