As you can see by KingKull’s post above I had already contacted egemen to verify this. CPF will go straight to a release next week. 2.3.3.33 will be the last beta in this cycle.

Hmmm. I could have sworn reading that the final would be pushed back a few weeks and an interim Beta with some additional bug fixes was going to be released, but I can’t find the post. I guess I was dreaming, right engemen?

Yes Al. But then BETA failed to pass minimum quality assurance and I deleted that line before too many people read.

Hi,

The latest beta is 2.3.3.33 and there was no release on the 24th. There was meant to be a stable release, but due to a bug this will be held back until next week. This bug is fixed, so 2.3 should go to a stable release Tuesday.

So the new version will come out next tuesday. That’s good news! Though i haven’t had any problems with the old version it’s still exiting to see how this new version works.

But, since I use the 2.3 beta, I’ll have to uninstall it first and only then install 2.3, right? I have many rules set in my Application Monitor, Component Monitor and Network Monitor.

Is there any way to save those rules?

These are instructions from egemen on how to back up CPF’s config and rules:

Hi,

Currently CPF does not have a backup tool. But dumping the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Software\Comodo\Personal Firewall and all of its subkeys should work OK.

Just export the keys then import them back after installing.

which makes me think … this is the kind of thing it should obviously be able to do by itself, give the option. Hopefully that will be included in the next version. A simple user should not have to work in regedit for their firewall!
