Hi All,

Here at Comodo we always listen to our users’ views, they guide us on which way we should go to ultimately give you the product you want. The amazing support and feedback from all our users is very special and we’re lucky to have such incredible people using our products.

Keeping the above view in mind, the modern Dragon GUI is bold, striking and has gained responses from “I love it” to “it makes my eyes want to throw up” ;). Jokes aside, the new GUI has polarized your views and we want to try and keep everyone happy. We’re doing a new release today with an updated LIGHT version GUI. I’ll also still make the DARK GUI available on this post for those who like that too.

It’s up to you to choose the LIGHT or the DARK SIDE.

We’ve also brought the icon design theme back towards the original and loved icon.

Comodo Dragon 36.1.1.21 is now available for download from the following link:

New in this version:

  • Light GUI theme.
  • New Tab Page link colour changed for readability.
  • Updated Dragon Icon.

Nice to see this time it asked me to update too, without installing any extras I have previously not had installed.

Found a problem with the previous version and it is also in this version too.

Right click the NSIS installer, and extract it with 7zip or similar

Go into the extracted folder
Go into $PLUGINSDIR
Find and edit the file SecureDNSPage.ini ( with Notepad++ or any text ed )

Have a look at the following :

[Field 6]
Type=Label
Left=15
Top=100
Right=401
Bottom=125
Text=YOUR COMPUTER’S PRIMARY/SECONDARY DNS SETTINGS WILL BE CHANGED TO 156.154.70.22, 156.154.71.22. IF YOU ARE IN A CORPORATE NETWORK OR USING VPN CONNECTIONS, THEN CONTACT YOUR ADMINISTRATOR BEFORE ENABLING THIS OPTION TO AVOID POTENTIAL CONNECTIVITY ISSUES.

The IPs for Secure DNS are still the old ones.

I know there was a time when the official website was giving these IPs aswell as the new IPs so it was inconsistent as to which ones we should be using - See the following topic :

But now the official Secure DNS web page has been completely changed to the new IPs

If those are no longer experimental / beta then why is Dragon not using them in accordance with the Secure DNS page which is telling the world to use the new ones ?

Is there still confusion as to whether they are still experimental … or just forgotten to update the NSIS installer for Dragon ?

I was trying to establish an update on the information myself a few nights ago when I first discovered the above was also in the installer for 36.1.1.19 :

Great news about ice dragon! I’m currently in the fox camp as that miserable lot at a former swiss army knife type browser won’t listen & alienate their old user base.

Yeah guys we’ve had a lot of exciting changes in the browser team. We’ve expanded the team a lot and bringing faster release is a top priority.

Thank you for having brought back the previous Dragon’s theme.

I’ve a question. Each time I launch Dragon 36.1.1.21, it wants to execute ie4uiinit.exe. That’s the 1st time since I use Dragon (several years) that this request is made. I blocked it and Dragon is launched correctly. Is there a reason that suddenly Dragon needs to initialize I.E.?

Any chance u could attach the light theme also so ppl can ‘mess’ around with other themes also and go back to the Light Theme if wanted/needed?
