Hi grag11!
Yes, it works very well.
But, a word of advice: until all the new bugs are worked out, keep a version of Comodo CIS older than 2024.
Another tip: set your router or your Provider or your PC to stay under IPv4 (and not IPv6). It’s easy to do and works just fine.
NordVPN is a very good choice.
You’ll get months free if you click here:
Comodo Dome is not a VPN it’s a DNS interface much like Adguard but is more geared towards enterprise environment. It hasn’t been developed for some years. Comodo did have it’s own VPN Comodo Trust Connect but It’s not on the main website or part of the paid product these days. From what I remember, it was a bit slow and you had to install a local vpn client for it to work. If you’re looking for a VPN there are other products out there.
Those who pay for the “Comodo CIS Pro” version are entitled to VPN Comodo Trust Connect .
It’s written in the offer.
And now I know that, at least when it comes to commercial commitments, you can really trust Comodo with your eyes closed.
So it’s a happy alternative to subscribe to Comodo CIS Pro and get VPN Comodo Trust Connect :
(Even if Xcitium products are probably much better finished)
thanks for responding. I installed CIS 2025 and so far works fine so far no issues. DNS servers my provider provides ipv4 DNS and servers. Also Comodo Dome Shield I tried setting it on my Samsung S6 lite tablet by sending myself VPN and mobile agent but I could not find XCitium app in Google play, so I tried Strongswan and it gives the following error “failed to establish VPN user authenication failed.”
Strongswanvpnlog.txt (5.5 KB)
is there anyway you can help. I can no longer find the Xcitium app on Google play store, so I downloaded strongswan as that what was shown in the email sent by comodo dome shield. Xcitium app does not work on ios nor Android so I deleted it. I tried logging into Xcitium on my desktop, it will not allow me to log in as email and password do not match. it is funny because last time i did, no longer now. I think they are not offering free anymore.
I thank you for always responding.
do you think I should uninstall cis 2025 and reinstall cis 8012 if so where is the link to down load as well as the clean up tool.
So far I do not have any issues with the certificate, but it is just virtual desktop that is not loading.
.8012 installer: See this topic for download links: .8012 release topic **Make sure you check the installed components with this installer as CIS used to ship with it’s browser, Secure Shopping (discontinued) and Internet Security Essentials (MTM protection that’s redundant and only worked with Internet Explorer)
Uninstaller Tool: Uninstaller 3.1.0.45
** You might see a HIPS warning when reinstalling as sometimes CIS/CF leaves drivers in the driver repository. It should resolve after rebooting or you can manually removed these after running the uninstaller tool.See this topic post for instructions Remove leftover drivers
It should also be said that some Comodo services work only, and only, with customers in the USA.
These options are not valid elsewhere in the world.
So it all depends on where you live.
With NordVPN’s VPN, you’ll get Internet protection and monitoring of links and web addresses, which will make up for these functions that have disappeared from Comodo CIS.
Unfortunately, I no longer give advice on which version of Comodo CIS to install, as it has become too complicated…
All I know is that the old versions were more stable and that the new ones can go so far as to crash the computer and even be impossible to uninstall.
However, for some, it works.
In any case, it won’t make much difference to your original problem.
I can also see that Comodo’s DNS aren’t as effective as they used to be at blocking malware, or are switching to other DNS themselves…
Comodo seems to be moving towards a solution that can only block all types of infection through containment and other effective preventive and pro-active measures.
So, for DNS and VPN, alas, I’m afraid you’ll have to pay.
That’s why I told you about NordVPN…
