How close is this to being finished?
Knowing that it has never been officially announced on Comodo’s forums (I learned about it from Malwaretips), I even wonder whether it won’t be abandoned, after all…
There are many people who are using Comodo’s products despite Comodo’s attitude that seem to show despise or even hate towards their users if not towards some of their own products such as CCAV (not to mention how many people find unhealthy the attitude of Comodo’s forums moderators, very much different from what one can encounter in the forums of other security products; this is why oftentimes Comodo’s products are discussed elsewhere, not here).
To the point: maybe they’ll NEVER release it, but I have been using it on Win7 since end-February, and it rocks! The only caveat, its detection rate is below that of the full CAV/CIS. Even with on-demand scan, CCAV failed to detect at some point 75% of the new malware strains I threw at it, while CAV grasped ALL OF THEM on the spot (the respective malware samples were about 10 hours old on VirusTotal).
But the GUI is excellent, and the sandboxing works just fine (one has to customize it when needed).

Browser Protection “Alert” doesn’t provide Allow/Block options, like in CIS. Please provide the options in CCAV too.
Is this abandonware? Should I uninstall it?

It looks like they abandoned it. They forgot about it the way some people forget their child in the car when they go to the mall, and then the kid dies because the car was left in the sun.

Wouldn’t be bad to have some news, at least to understand if we have to replace CCAV with something different, since it’s not healthy to run around with an outdated security software

In my humble opinion CCAV has great potential and in my opinion it would become the best free cloud antivirus, compared to the competition. If the WEB protection is implemented (in the meantime it could be coupled with COS) and some small bugs and functionality are solved, moreover the detection rate with Valkyria faster in the answers would have improved, CCAV would be unbeatable. CCAV is a great antivirus especially for dated PCs and inexperienced users who, if more improved and publicized, would beat other famous free antiviruses but maybe a little less safe.

I have sent some feedback about CCAV (7-9 May) to one of the staff that works with CCAV/CCAV Team and she/he liked them and are gonna share some of them with the team.

June and no news on CCAV??
What’s happening here is what’s happened with many Comodo products. When it’s first introduced there’s lots of hype and lots of development, but eventually the product is no longer new so it’s no longer exciting and development slows with long gaps between updates. Just look at the discontinued products board to see a graveyard of dead-end projects and honestly there should be more on there. Comodo Time Machine is still in the regular boards and it hasn’t received an update since 2010. Things may improve for CCAV, but it may just be receiving the silent death that so many other Comodo products have received. Yeah, the team of CCAV liked some ideas in May and Razvan promised Melih a much faster CTM in September of 2013. I’ll believe it when I see it.
When i try to submit unknown files to Valkyrie i get “Failed to get Valkyrie API key” error,
any one else have this problem? ive had it for a while now.

I think I’ll be giving CCAV another go on my gaming pc. I could do with just a light weight option.
