I would not download and install over version 1 as it is a complete remake of Backup. I have installed it in a separate folder and still have v-1 operable with my scheduled b/ups. So far this has been ok for me. This will give me an opportunity to give v-2 a good workout.
Thanks JJasper.
Followed your advise ,and after BETA instal, ran a backup of Windows.
with 1.0.4.337 their were normally a few errors, but not with BETA.
The interface is nice, and intuitive as well.
While I had only been using 1.0.4.337 for a short time,I liked it.
This is clearly better and easier to use.

Tried this on a work PC running Groupwise as its default mail handler and CBU2 saw that Outlook was installed (even though it wasn’t the default and hasn’t been configured).
Subsequently, tried CBU2 on a non-work PC that has Outlook 2003 and Thunderbird installed (Outlook is the default) as mail clients and MSN Messenger as a chat client, but CBU2 reported that I had no email accounts or chat software. >:( ???

Affected system has two physical hard drives and a DVD burner. The only drives available to backup from are the hard drives (C: and D:). I backed up 1.1GB of files, split into 675MB chunks which were later burnt to CD (drive E:). When I attempted to restore from CD the only drives available to restore from are the hard drives (C: and D:). The backup archives are valid, as I was able to copy the files to a hard drive and restore from there.
Just to be clear the current IM’s and email clients that are supported in this beta version are:
IM’s : Yahoo Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Skype;
Email Clients: Thunderbird( versions lower than 2.0 will undergo further testing after minor problems were reported), Windows Live Mail, Eudora, Microsoft Outlook 2003, Microsoft Outlook 2007.
Please report any further problems that you encounter.
Do you want to backup a DVD or you want to store the backup on DVD?
In any case,
If you want to backup DVD, this is not possible in this version.
If you want to store the backup on DVD. First perform the backup, store it on local computer, then, after the backup is finished you might move the backup files to DVD. Backup directly to DVD is not supported yet.
If possible please post your log content .You can find your “log.txt” file (if logging option is enabled) in your Comodo BackUp installation folder.Or if you can repeat the restore process on the same files and it failes again, specify the full path for the last file that was processed.
Also did you managed to perform a backup and restore on the same files with Comodo BackUp 1.0?
