CIS becoming paid?

Comodo firewall stopped working this afternoon and I tried downloading it again to reinstall it but it says it is no longer free. Is this true?

Please use the search feature as there is a topic already discussion this issue. Thus I merged it with this one.

It is still free but it so much harder to find the download link when using www.comodo.com. In the topic start we gathered download pages that provide the free versions when using www.comodo.com. But using the download link from the forums is an easier route.

Alas I am afraid that Comodo with its policy of no information sinks into an unknown future
The free I think too since no manager comes to contradict the thoughts of users on the subject in progress

I can no longer find on the website a part where you can download CIS for free.
Has it officially become a fee?

The Comodo staff has yet to comment on this subject. We can’t be 100% sure of anything currently.

Also this might be related to the problems and confusion at Comodo consumer websites:

But where do you still download the free version?
Is there still on the website?

If it has become a paid product or is becoming a paid product where is the honesty to just say so? Then we can make our own future decisions.

In that case, I’ll move on to other free solutions from other companies that are still valid.

Look at the topic start. Also, each CIS release topic at this Forum contain a Link for downloading the free CIS Premium.

I don’t really understand the reason for not just saying whether or not CIS is going full paid software. With the changes to the website it seems that they’ve already made the decision; might as well be upfront about it. If they aren’t going full paid, then there’s no reason to not just say so. Considering that at $5 per 1 device per year it’s cheaper than every other paid internet security suite out there that it would almost be a bragging point. Obviously many users will be upset, but it doesn’t help to delay. Might as well rip off the band-aid.

I personally wouldn’t mind paying $10 for my two computers, but Comodo needs to fix the update nonsense (not sending out the update to current installations when they say they will) and the updates to fix issues caused by Microsoft’s updates need to be more timely. When you’re paying for something, you have a valid reason to complain even if it’s only 5 or 10 dollars.

This could very well be the doing of a Third party. Check this Youtube channel for example:

The 4,99/year campaign is also surfacing at random new Youtube channels.

Will the Free Product survive? Is the main question, without any answer yet.

all is pointing to this; even this forum is abandoned, as a legacy place…

I’m guessing using the last free version of the firewall will be risky down the road with no updates for it anymore, how is Zone Alarm?

Will they do it again?
Will they share links with free versions?
Mah …

This guy knows the answer…

[at]Fatih Orhan from Comodo just confirmed at Itarian forums that CIS Free still exists, websites are being updated and Links to free version will be available on Wednesday.

https://forum.itarian.com/forum/products/other-comodo-products/comodo-device-management/37863-is-this-legitimate-re-charge-per-endpoint

The mystery is finally solved. Also a big thank you to the user who asked the question at Itarian forums.

It looks like Comodo is going through big changes. It is hard to gauge the transitions happening by looking at the website. That’s is very unfortunate because changes without communication creates confusion, challenges people’s trust and may sometimes give the impression of not being seen or abandoned.

I hope that the website will be final on Wednesday and not subject to more changes after. Happy to hear nothing has changed for the free availability of CIS but we could do with a staff member confirming here. It doesn’t need to be a long post; just one that takes away our concerns.
