Tried this three times, booting each time. No luck.
Is there any tool to remove leftovers of Comodo?
I’m using avast as antivirus. SpywareTerminator (without ClamWin integration) for spywares.
PeerGuardian is running. All software, latest versions and databases.
Other security software, just on-demand (AVGas, a-squared, etc.).
I have the high CPU usage issue too when I use bitcomet,
also single link download from Internet Explorer.
CPU usage from cfp.exe goes up to 47-50% everytime.
When Bitcomet is running with 20-30 peers, the firewall interface freezes, so does the setting on tray icon, it’s hard to get to it with bitcomet running.
I tried switching firewall and defense+ to disable, individually, and at the same time.
High CPU usage persists.
I have no start up/shut down delay and BSODs
but Defense+ slows down programs start up time.
I have to uninstall the beta 3 since it slows down the pc A LOT while downloading,
back to 2.4 now.
Windows XP sp2 with updates.
Pentium D 2.80GHz 1GB RAM
Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 8.1
Ad-aware 1.06 se
AVG antispyware 7.5.1.43
Until betatesting is over most posts will be grouped to keep the board tidy. Most testers had the habit to start a new topic without posting the relevant info needed nor listed the affected beta in the topic title. Some members instead post in the wrong board and it is difficult to merge an old topic without few side effects. :o
Is it possible to change the header instead of grouping all post together when the problem is specific to one system and one problem?
Or can the search function be used to search one header on the board?
Not sure if this is linked with Comodo 3 beta. I have Spyware Terminator. Whenever I try to open the program, I have a Windows-No Disk screen- Exception Processing Message 0xc0000013 Parameters 0x7606023C 0x841249DC 0x760E023C 0x760E023C with the option to cancel, try again, or continue. If I click 2 times on try again, the program opens and everything is fine. I have Vista Home Premium, AVAST HOME EDITION, ADAWARE 2007, SPYBOT S&D, A-SQUARED 3, ASQUARED ANTI-DIALER, AVG AS, AVG RK, HijackThis, SPYWAREBLASTER
OK, so I did try it one more time, and there seems to be a conflict there somewhere, NOD32 takes up to 50% CPU every time I open the CFP gui, logs or monitor windows. CFP seems to lock in scan mode when I surf the net but it doesn’t unlock when I disable NOD32 web filterings (IMON in v2.7 Web Filter in V3 RC1) so seems there’s something to lok for there, but I’m leaving it to the Dev guys
Unfortunately I cannot do without an antivirus so I’m switching back to Beta 2 of CFP V3, for now …
windows XP pro, 32 bit
pentium 4 3Ghz, 512 MB DDR2
running comodo anti-virus 2 beta, spybot 1.4
Hi,
While I was talking in the ICQ and MSN messenger, I told to the firewall to stop all activities, but the ICQ and the messenger were still connected to the internet… nothing stopped them…
General comment about CPF 3: Since it is installing CPU monitoring (Correct me if I’m wrong) other monitoring AV/anti-spyware software is likely to interfere with CPF’s installation. I can’t help but wonder if a lot of the problems would be resolved if the solution (Tip of the hat to the Global moderator - Little Mac) to one of my problems with BOclean were employed. For that solution, I booted into safe mode and uninstalled the program. I then rebooted - again into safe mode and installed the program. Before rebooting a third time, and while still in safe mode, I wrote the exclusion rules for my other security software. I then booted into normal mode. Given the array of other security software that I’ve seen in posts, I wonder how many of those users have put CPF 3 on the “safe” or “exclude” lists of their other security software? That does not guarantee success, but it might help avoid some conflicts.
Thanx for HIPS in CPF 3 beta, last build 3.0.9.229 works for me pretty nice. Note a word attemps(s) in the Summary Tab of beta, maybe attempt(s) should be more correct? I’m Russian, so not sure…
Some of the bug reports here look like conflicts with other security software. I finally found a good way to identify troublesome files and write exceptions/add them to the “Safe” list. I found a program called “Security TaskManager” which is a “TaskManager” replacement that rates running processes for their hazardous characteristics. I ran it and used the report to exclude about 20 .exe and .dll files in my AV/Anti-spyware software. I had previously identified some of the conflicts, but this was much more complete. Now all is quiet. :BNC
