CFP 3.0.9.229 BETA 32-Bit Bug Reports [CLOSED]

eMule’s Policy was created by Defense+, it recognized the program by it’s own, and Defense+ has not created any logs about it, so I would say: no conflicts there…
As for NOD, It’s ver 2.7, the actual version, I tried RC1 of V3 a week ago but there were no changes in behavior -I switched back because it did not recognize my licence- and no matter what setting I choose in it it has no efects on Comodo whatsoever, I have not seen alerts in the Defense+ logs for NOD either…
Today I had to uninstal Comodo Beta 3, it was impossible to use the machine, I’ll be trying again tomorow but probably will go back to beta 2, IMHO it was better that this one in terms of resourses usage…

(edited to correct gramatical errors, sory still pulishing my englis :))

I haven’t seen a thread on this yet so I am starting 1…

  • I found a thread on bugs report under 32 bit bugs but I don’t know how to move this there, sorry…

I found a bug with fast-use switching in CPF 32bit Beta version.

the problem can be reproduced using the following steps:

  1. log on as user A (admin equivalent)
  2. do anything, surf, words, etc.
  3. Click [start] → log off
  4. Click [switch user]
  5. log on as user B (admin equi or not doesn’t matter)
  6. do anything, surf, words, etc.
  7. Click [start] → log off
  8. Click [Log off]
  9. Windows logging off user B (log off sound and usual screen display running)
  10. ■■■■, did not go back to log on screen, the whole screen went blank with a cursor blinking at top left corner and hanged.
  11. reset button or pull the plug is the only option left…

@ MasterTB: thanks for the additional infos. You hava a fairly advanced hardware so that high CPU usage is totally unexpected anyway Devs will surely look into this.

If you test again this beta release please unistall nod for a few hours this will provide another bit of info too.
NOD seem to be the only other kernel hooking software you are using so it may be useful to know if there ase some issues between the two.

No CPU problems on my machine with P2P program (utorrent). Everything running fine, no CPU eater.

(:SAD) Big Big problem : Can’t update windows Vista32 anymore !!! It cannot validate my vista !! I tryed to uninstall CFP 3 and it still doesn’t validate !!! (:AGY) (:AGY)

I had to make a system restoration to get my license validated back : this is not nice !!!

please, do something

same problem with beta 3 (:SAD) !!! uninstall did nothing : I had to restore my system (:AGY)

After the problem i had with updates under vista, i had to restore my system . My problem is that CFP still appears in the security center list of firewalls (activated) whereas it is not on my computer anymore… is there a way to remove this entry in the security center ?

Create a System restore point and follow the steps described in this topic

https://forums.comodo.com/help/rebuild_repository_folder_to_recognize_comodo_resolved-t2479.0.html;msg19751#msg19751

it doesn’t work : CMDagent.exe is still in the process (i had to kill it and manually erase the /comodo/firewall/ folder - cmd pro helper is still in the services… and comodo firewall pro is still "protecting " my computer…

That mean you didn’t completely remove CFP.
You had to use the uninstaller or a restore point before CFP installation.

I also noticed high CPU usage and I’ve made some tests with Defense+ disabled. It seems it’s firewall module problem. I was downloading a 256MB test file [ ftp://ftp.atman.pl/atman ] and I was observing CPU usage. I tried different speeds 10/25/50/100/240 KB/s and I noticed that if I was downloading faster then CFP.exe was using much more CPU. But even when I was downloading at very low speed(10 KB/s) there were ‘CPU spikes’ about 20% caused by CFP.exe. The number of connections doesn’t really matter. I was downloading that test file with Internet Explorer( 1 connection, 240KB/s) and also using Free Download Manager( 12 connections, 240KB/s) and CPU usage was nearly the same.

CPU: Pentium 4 HT 32-bit 3.2GHz@3,7GHz
Connection: 2048/384 kb/s ( cable modem connected to one computer through ethernet)

OS: Windows XP 32-bit Pro SP2 + online updates.
Active protection: Avira Antyvir(the latest freeware version), BOClean 4.25
Passive protection: HOSTS file, Sbybot Search & Destroy , SpywareBlaster.

A few other things I noticed:

  • Moving pending files to ‘My Own Safe list’ doesn’t work. Moving pending files to ‘My Quarantined Files’ seems to work fine;
  • The firewall’s ‘Web Browsers’ rule doesn’t allow the web browser to connect and download from FTP(I had to use ‘Trusted App…’ rule);
  • ‘My Pending Files’ window can be minimalized but you can’t do anything else in CFP then.(disable minimalize option or allow other activities in CFP);
  • Some windows should have ‘Minimalize’ option enabled just like CFP: Log Viewer, eg. Active Connections, Firewall/Defense+ Events;
  • In Summary there should be links for quick access to Firewall/Defense+ Events just like in CFP 2.4;

I said previously that my vista activation (problem with updates) was not recognized anymore… but i wonder if the problem doesn’t come from Comodo BOClean (:NRD)
Because when i shut it down, my vista is activated again !!!
could you check that

windows XP Pro, 32 Bit
Pentium 4 3.00 Ghz, 512 MB DDR2
running Comodo anti-virus beta 2, Spybot 1.4

1)There is still problem with double CFP.EXE after logging off…
2)Beta 3 slows down very much the internet speed when I download Email using outlook (from Gmail if it important).
3)I recommend to add “Restore factory settings” button.
4)about “my pending files”: c:\system volume information_resore{…}\fifoed.…
I told to the firewall to move all of them to “my own safe files” but it don’t respond and those files are still waiting…
5)I told to the firewall to ask me about incoming requests (to work with Emule at “high ID”) but after I click allow up to 10 times I still have “low ID” (There is no more requests of course…).
6)Sometimes the file size in “logging” in “settings” drop to 0 MB.

Hi

First install of Beta 3.0.9.229 today. When opening IE7 I had the following screen. The next one shows that CFP takes several minutes to initialize.
My PC was frozen at the time so had to take the pics with my camera, sorry for the quality.

Ultimate Vista 32 bit.

I installed 3.0.9 today. Immediately after restart CounterSpy went berserk: a Counterspy scan process used most of the CPU when I used any program.

3.0.9 does not work with CounterSpy.

I have now gone back to the good old 3.0.8, which works without serious bugs for me, :slight_smile:

Network diagnosis does not work.
I couldn’t find CPFConfig.exe, just cfpconfg.exe.
Trying to run cfpconfg.exe, nothing happens (after allowing UAC rights).

I’m on Vista Business 32bits, Comodo Beta latest version (3.0.9.229).

Oh, nothing blocked, no popups, no active connections shown…

Any answer ???

That’s an error CPF refer to the old name for comodo firewall.

Try to uninstall V3 and then reintstall it.
Post here your AV brand and other security software you are running.

I’m having trouble upon double clicking Spyware Terminator (latest version and the one prior). I have a Warning Window from Vista asking me to cancel, try again or continue. If I try again 2 times the program finally opens. Running fine otherwise. Don’t know if it has something to do with Comodo 3 beta. I have Vista home Premium, AVAST HOME EDITION, AVG RT, AVG AS, Comodo BOCLEAN 4.25, Spyware Terminator, Spybot Search and Destroy, Adaware 2007, SpywareBlaster, Asquared free 3 and Asquared antidialer. Only problem is spyware terminator now. (:AGY)

I can certify this is due to Comodo 3 beta because there is no problems with ST when you exit Comodo. I had also a few times where the problem seemed to be solved, but now it’s back again.

I’m on Vista Home Premium. SpywareBlaster, ADAWARE 2007, Spybot Search and Destroy, BOCLEAN 4.25, A-squared 3 and a-squared antidialer and spyware terminator. Whenever I doubleclick or try to open spyware terminator, i have a window screen asking me to cancel try again or continue the action. If I press try again 2 times, the program opens and everything is fine. Has this something to do with Comodo 3 beta? :slight_smile:
