Yes, thank you. I already read this comment but unfortunately, it can’t help me.

Hmm, it’s not that easy, I think.
Do you have any other security software installed?
Try using software like ccleaner to see if there are any leftovers in the registry. But don’t let it delete everything automatically. So don’t let any cleaning tools run automatically/on their own.
CIS is very sensitive if there are any leftovers from other security programs.

deleted part, confusion

I downloaded from a different computer (Win11), mine is Win10 Home and from this link : https://download.comodo.com/cis/download/installs/9040/standalone/cispremium_installer.exe But I don’t know if it’s the 32 bits standalone version or 64 version.

I will try it with ciscleanup tool and a cleaner program like Iobit Advanced System Care.

IOBIT? I once tried this software: never again. Be careful.

Yes, I also tried a few years ago and I disliked too. It looks like they improve their algorythm and it’s working pretty well on Win11 computer. I have the Pro version. I will install it on Win10 too.
When did test Iobit ASC ?

I’m not sure, but I think COMODO removed this company from their list of suppliers.
I don’t use this type of product.

I will let you know once I’m at home about reinstalling CIS premium according to your recommendation. I will also use the CIS cleanup tool as I’m not sure I installed it a few years ago.

@prodex After cleaning with the cleaner and CIS cleanup tool, I still have the same error when installing CIS Premium

Hi Baltazar1,

Can you confirm if you have Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Home S and have you previously had any other security software installed - apart from the built in Windows Defender ?

@Dolphin66
I don’t know about Win 10 Home S, so I can suppose that I have Win 10 Home.
I remove all remnants in the registry and also in my hard drive.
I need to mention that after checking I have Comodo Dragon browser (its folder named is “Comodo”). I also have installed Shadow Defender but it"s not a security software, only the name can refer to security but not the program. I don’t use this program but it was installed with the driver. He created a virtual environment, a “shadow mode”.

@Baltazar1 If you type ’ winver ’ in the search box at the bottom and then press enter a ox will pop up that shows the exact version of Windows that is installed.

Shadow Defender https://shadowdefender.com/ is security software and could be interferring with the installation of CIS.

Thank you Dolphin66.
I will check my Windows 10 version but I’m pretty sure it’s Home Edition. I will tell you on Sunday or next Monday, I’m not at home.
I will uninstall it Shadow Defender. I have also an old version of Sandboxie program, it’s not a security program. Do I need to uninstall it ?
Don’t you think that if I install it an older version of CIS premium maybe it will work ?

Hi,

You could leave Sandboxie on there ( updated to the latest version ) but CIS already has Containment and a Virtual Desktop.

You should not need an older version on CIS as 2025 should install on Win 10 - You do have that fully updated ?

@Dolphin66
I uninstalled Shadow Defender and Sandboxie but I still couldn’t install it.
I tried to install an older version and it works on my computer.
I don’t understand why I can not install the latest version.
A tech from Comodo team, will be great to give an answer.

You obviously need to update windows to a newer build as cis requires a recent windows version. Check the install logs in your temp folder for details.

Hi, Are you saying then that some versions of Windows 10 are not supported ?

Yes here it seems there is a minimum build number requirement.

Hi, Strange as no mention on the site of a specific Windows 10 version and can install on systems all the way back to 7!! https://antivirus.comodo.com/
