MorphOS, I ROFL’d so hard at your second post!
Anyways, here’s my (un-tested) configuration:
I call my OS… WINDOWS XP PRO MINIMUM (since I prefer to disable everything lol)!
Applications

Pinball - (I haven’t played it for umm… some years)
Screensavers - (It’s not like I watch them…)
Wordpad - (So owned by Notepad. You can create virus in Notepad, so enough for me)
Keyboard
Disable all except your own…
Languages
Same as above…
Multimedia
Disable:
AOL ART Image Format Support - (Omg, I hate AOL…)
DirectX Diagnostic Tool - (Diagnostic stuff causes more problem than they help you)
Images and Background - (Own background FTW)
Media Center - (Are you using Windows Media Center?)
Mouse Cursors - (Like name says, it’s a CURse)
Move Maker - (Anything’s better)
Music Samples - (No comment really…)
Tablet PC - (I use Desktop PC)
Windows Media Player - (Cocec, codec, CODECS!)
Windows Picture and Fax Viewer - (View it with your image software insted, and who needs the log-in avatars)
Windows Sounds - (NO NO! SAVE ME FROM THE BEEEEEEEEEEEP!)
Network
Disable:
Active Directory Services - (I never needed this…)
Client for Netware Networks - (Netware…?)
Communication Tools - (Lol?)
Comtrol Test Terminal Program - (Never heard of it before)
Connection Manager (REMOTE=Remove)
Dial-up and VPN support (I’m better than you, because I have a router)
FrontPage Extensions (We lack a BackPage, so why we need a FrontPage?)
H323 MSP (Oh, my Lord God Almighty! [!], I thought it was a virus!)
Internet Connection Wizard - (I’m the computer mage, so why I need a wizard?)
Internet Explorer - (■■■■■■■)
IIS - (Lallalala)
IP Conferencing - (Zoom, bye bye!)
MSN Explore - (Who use it…?)
Netmeeting - (So old…)
NetShell Cmd Tool - (Never used, so bye bye)
Network Monitor Drivers and Tools - (Bye bye)
NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS Protocol - (I hate NetBIOS)
Outlook Express - (MSN>Outlook)
Peer-to-Peer - (“This is not needed for normal p2p applications, only Microsoft.” Omg, Microsoft doing piracy?!)
Share Creation Wizard - (I don’t share my stuff, so go away)
Syncronization Manager - (Delete, I can’t spell it)
Web Folders - (I have own folders on my own computer)
Windows Messenger - (Omg…)
Operating System Options
Disable:
.NET Framework - (Install if needed)
Adminastrativate Templates - (Another word I can’t spell)
Administrator VB Scripts - (You can live without them)
Blaster/Nachie Remover Tool - (Now you’re removed too)
Color Shemes - (Omg, I loved changing this in school like 7-8 years ago)
Desktop Cleanup Wizard - (Not another wizard…)
Disk and Profile Quota - (Quota, what a stupid word)
Disk Cleanup - (Heard of CCleaner?)
Document Templates - (Nice to know you…)
DR Watson - (Doctor’s usually don’t drive you crazy)
FAT to NTFS converter - (Lalalalalalaallaal)
File and Settings Wizard - (Never used)
Format drive support - (I only format from the boot CD anyways…)
Help and Support - (Well, I haven’t got any help)
IExpress Wizard - (Omg, I’ve had it with wizrds)
Input Method Editor - (I don’t speak Japanese)
Manual Install and Upgrade - (Wate of space)
MS Agent - (No spies on my computer)
Out of Box Expeirence - (I love my darkside version of XP PRO)
Private Character Editor - (Never used)
RIS - (…)
Search Assistant - (I like dogs, but not this one)
Security Center - (More like ResourceEating Center)
Shell Media Handler - (Oki)
NTSD - (Sounds stupid)
Tour - (No thx)
User account pictures - (I can live without them)
Zip folders - (Zap!)
Now to my favorite…
Services
I don’t know if nLite completely removes or only disabled the services…
Here’s what’s worth keeping enabled:
Event Log - (Might be useful sometimes)
Network Connections - (It’s set to manual, so why bothering disabling it)
Plug and Play - (Playing is funny)
RPC - (Your computer will stop working without this)
Windows Audio - (Needed for the sound to work)
Windows Management Instrumentation - (I don’t know what it’s used for, so better leave it alone)
Now I owned Safe Mode hard?
Does it work? Yes, it works for what I need to use my computer for.
NOTE: YOU MIGHT WANT TO KEEP DHCP AND DNS ENABLED!
Cheers,
Ragwing
