Avast 8 reviews

then what was then with their 0 day protection

what? that wasn’t in my test

ouch i didn’t know that looks like avast is hog on the pc

but they had a low detection rate on the test it did have 33-34% on zero day malware part at the time it was a disappointing score

nsm0220,the version you tested was a beta and it is normal for detection rates to go up with the ahead Beta’s and RC’s and final version

What are you saying ? … You tested it and many of your undetected samples were detected by Evo don’t know what are you saying ???

This differs on the PC … And as said on wilders when a program is used by 180 M + users they cannot provide perfect performance for each PC’s ! It’s not even possible ! :o

the performance issues i was experiencing were resolved with the next beta. i believe i tested the first beta

Very interesting videos…

Malware Geek Product Audit: avast! Internet Security 8

Avast 8 Free Final Test and Review (MalwareDoctor)

More tests:

so far 3 good results…

the review by ryne was somehow questionable as the current built has some bugs with the network shield and issues of BSOD’s of sandbox only occuring on win XP systems so I give that a let go as in product bugs only occuring on win XP and the one with MalwareDoctor, avast did well there apart the fact that some files detected in program files folder were PUP’s and avast doesnt detect PUP’s

make that 2 good results because avast let in a virus not the malware virus type but the type that like the patching virus

btw i know in Malware Geeks review that when windows was frozen that it had been fallen prey by a rootkit

nsm0220,without being 100% sure and without checking with anti-malware tools you cannot say what caused a BSOD and you are not expert

btw your friend didn’t even scan with hitman pro or malwarebytes to see if any malware gone though avast so those links are pointless

also that link with the bsod is not good to put because your are encouraging people to damage their pc just to see a bsod and btw im good at removing malware like rootkits and Trojans

Stop whining nsm0220,he was doing the test with killswitch open and if anything got in memory it can be seen in memory and if you has your eye on the review on the video then you will know…we also had a test from manzaitest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRHib0Q2CIA

i did keep a eye on it but malware he ran was off camera

Avoid personal attacks, and yes this qualifies as a personal attack. :P0l

Keep things polite, even if you disagree with someone else.

I’m still on the PC I did the test … I don’t run any VM I execute everything on my own machine … Avast’s goal is to protect users and so far it did 100% protection for unknown malware for me. I scanned with MBAM it just found files in dustbin.

i was talking about malwaregeeks review when i did keep a eye on it but malware he ran was off camera

ok no problem then.
