Hello,

No problem 8)

@ZorKas, :-TU.

Same here with latest Update KB4541335

No problems - many thanks :-TU

Seems to be running fine so far, even with the firewall rules I added to act as a backup kill-switch for my VPN.

How do you do it?

I avoided the update of KB4541335 due to the experience here. But with the last posts, I installed it and it runs as usual.

It works fine here also.

I always use Custom Ruleset for firewall and I set everything by hand - should I expect severe slowdowns in this or future builds? I don’t notice anything bad now on Win7 x64, only accepting changes in settings window takes about 8-10s (on i9 7940X). I wonder, if the configuration were saved in the protected file instead of inside registry, would that make things faster?

This build is not slower when it comes to saving large rulesets. It is known that having large rulesets is slow to process as you have noticed.

Thanks, Eric!
Yeah, I know that, that’s why I wondered, why isn’t the configuration saved in a file rather, that in registry. Is it because of protection?

That request has been before, and I mean years ago, but Comodo never decided to store configuration in a file assuming that will speed up things.

You can submit it as a wish in Wishlist - CIS board following the required format.

comodo secure shopping not open others browser (code mozilla, edge and chromium), only internet explorer (see image)

If no choice is made Comodo Secure Schopping will launch the default browser. Otherwise it is possible to choose the browser in the Comodo program.

No problem with Firefox or dragon

I like how this is a footnote of sorts, but it still applies to me. I was getting ready to find a comodo replacement. I’m glad to see something in the notes about it though. Again this applies to me, but the freezes are not entirely gone. There is still a hick up here or there. I’ve used Xeon hardware both broadwell-e and Skylake-e having Areca raid controllers installed. I also noticed the problem under windows 8.1.

How I first noticed the problem was during long large file copies.
It would cause BSODs during long large file copies with my areca RAID controller using drivers 6.20.00.33. reproducible with areca 1883IX hardware. robocopy was used to copy over 4TBs worth of data between arrays able to write at 1GB/s and about half way through it would cause a BSOD. This is with the comodo anti virus portion disabled and uninstalled from Programs and feature. It took me over a year to figure out the problem. I could reproduce the problem with a clean windows install windows 10 or 8.1 and clean comodo configuration file produced install. You may want to know how I know it was comodo causing the problem.

  1. a freeze would happen one to two minutes in duration just before it would happen and

  2. nothing else on the system besides robocopy and comodo were active. No web browsers or anything else loaded on the system no even printer software. I could even do clean installs of windows 8.1 or 10 with nothing but comodo installed.

  3. The problem went away entirely if comodo was not installed or removed from my imaged windows install or clean install.

Like I said it took me over a year to figure out it was comodo as the BSOD tracer program I used BlueScreenView would show the BSODs bounced around between a bunch of core Windows files but would always point or return to ntoskrnl.exe

I only use the firewall and I disable everything else I can.

Comodo configuration as follows:

Firewall enabled

Anti-virus disabled and removed

Dragon web browser, essentials, etc never installed (optioned out)

HIPS disabled

Auto-containment disabled

VirusScope disabled

Scan Exclusions
I put every hard drive on the system on the list

Device control disabled
Exclusions for every device were set to be excluded anyways.

Script Analysis disabled

Website filtering disabled

edit:

Don’t shellcode injection detection is checked!!

The only thing i didn’t cover in my original post was under
Under miscellaneous

Everything is checked minus

Show alerts in case any other software attempts to modify current settings of installed browsers

My second way of reproducing the problem came from gaming.

Playing Need for speed heat would make it rear it’s ugly head. During police chases and end race scene would also expose the freezing. During night time races more than day time races. The circuit tracks would be the problem area even those the game was loading off an SSD that did not have the OS on it.

Explorer periodically freezes (delay on opening from 30 sec. And above). Removed for the time of the CIS, the conductor opens without delay.

@LBJM. Did you try if the problem also happens without Robocopy installed? I am wondering if there is a compatibility issue between Robocopy and CIS.

Could you try adding the installation folders of Robocopy disable shellcode injection detection and see if that makes a difference?

Do you block CIS from doing look ups? It sounds like you may be doing that.

The settings are the same
I use it. I didn’t notice this before.
