An Antivirus/Antispyware Rescue CD

Hi people.
I think it would be a good idea that the company developes a freeware Rescue CD with online malware database updating.
That would be interesting in cases when you want to urgently desinfect an infected computer without having to install an antivirus software.

What’s you opinion?

Welcome! I hope you will enjoy comodo’s products. Look here.

Valentin

Absolutely, hence my suggestion here:-

I’ve Merged the topics,

also I do agree that this would be a great idea, that or just simply add Comodo’s AV to a Bart PE or UBCD 4 (Both Boot-able Windows Live Environment)

wasn’t there a similar request before?

Nyaha! I found it!!! In this thread, https://forums.comodo.com/which-product-do-you-want-comodo-to-develop-next/boottime-scanner-for-cis-t57717.0.html , Melih said,

our guys are working on a linux version that can be used for many products we have, including AV.

I would like this also, just because I know that Comodo would one-up the competition as they always do.

However, until then… I will continue to use Kapersky and Avira Rescue CDs because they work great.

Call me when ComodoRescueCD arrives!

News on this one guys. It now has a name. Taken from this link: https://forums.comodo.com/which-product-do-you-want-comodo-to-develop-next/which-product-to-develop-next-t125.780.html

Melih is quoted saying:

(Quote from: soccerguy2011 on October 27, 2010, 02:29:01 PM Hi. I'm currently trying the Comodo Internet Security for the first time. But I would like the company to develope a Rescue CD antivirus/antispyware that supports online database updating. The solution for a very infected computer is not always just to install an antivirus software and then just scanning because some viruses don't let you install the antivirus to begin with)

Comodo Cleaning Essentials is what you want Smiley its being developed as we speak.

Hello at all , Is an excellent and precious idea  , compliments Kind regards

Pretty sure CCE is not a bootable rescue disk. CCE may end up being a component of the bootable rescue disk.

Excellent :-TU suggestions , thanks at all Kind regards

I like this idea for a bootable scanner, but if you do make it,make a portable scanner that you can put on a flash drive like dr web’s cureit.

Thanks for my suggestion

It will be great if COMODO could develop rescue disk/recovery disk like Symantec Recovery Tool. It will be of great help to remove master boot record infection.

A Bootable CD is on it’s way; (Possibly later this year or early next year)

freakin awesome. where did you find the info on this project

Melih has ‘acknowledged’ that both CIS for linux and a bootable cd is coming here

And other places all you have to do is search for it

you can also use ubcd4win and download CCE and just slipstream it into the build

Jake

there is a poll. i’m confused by your statement of adding a poll. did you just not see it or is it not showing on your screen?

Great idea! That is one of my all time favorite features in Avast, I think that should definitely be added in the next version of CIS. :-TU

The bootable scan idea is one I certainly would love to see happen. :-TU
