Hi Flykite
I feel sorry for your inconvenience regarding this problem
I tried to install CTM 2.8 on my production system
and I encountered the same problem as mentioned above…
can you please send me a hotfix?
my email account is dax123[at]naver.com
thanks in advance.
Hi Flykite, same error here (dual boot XP 32bit/Win 7 64bit, get message “subsystem required is not active” after installation on both, uninstall fails on both drives with “must restart”). I would much appreciate the tool, so that I can start a new installation attempt.
can you please send me also this ClearMulOs.exe.
I tried to install the new beta which even works, but after restart i receive a popup to reinstall it because it’s not working correctly.
Hi FrankeDATA:
About the problem as you mentioned: “… but after restart i receive a popup to reinstall it because it’s not working correctly”, usually there are two reasons.
You have multiple OS, and you did not complete installation on each system.
There are some security tools prevent the installer of CTM to modify MBR.
Thank you very much, Flykite! I received it, and (at least on Win 7) it worked like a charm. I will commence deinstallation now and then set it up anew.
indeed, that was it. I had first the problem that the hdd was cloned with Acronis and so i removed Time M. before the next try. Than the installation was ok, but after the first restart there was this error and i didn’t try the installation in the second os.
Somebody was kind enough to email me with the “fix-it” tool attached.
I was unable to use the tool because I could not open it to run the software.
Can someone please send me the tool again and either :
put it in a format that I can open and run…or…
tell me how to open it and run it.
This computer is now so locked-up that I cannot open Outlook to get the tool.
So…I will have to get the tool from another one of my computers, save the tool to a Memory Stick and then load the tool from the Memory stick to this computer.
You could temporarily open a hotmail, gmail, yahoo, etc. account. One that doesn’t require a client, besides your browser, which seems to work.
Good luck
Kai
Hello,
Could someone please send to tool to uninstall Comodo to me as well? My email is grimreaper1014@live.com. I am using Windows XP, and I have tried installing Comodo Time Machine 3-4 different times. When I click the Time Machine icon I get an error about it not installing correctly. When I try to reinstall or uninstall I get the error that I have to restart my pc to finish installation. I tried rebooting multiple times, and nothing helps. Then, I have to reformat and reinstall the OS because Time Machine will not install or uninstall. Does anyone know how I can finally get Time Machine to install?
I was not provided with the removal tool. Could someone please send it to grimreaper1014@live.com? I have tried to install 2.9 on a fresh install as well. After restarting the computer all I had was a Comodo folder with a Time Machine folder with nothing in it. There was a shortcut to Time Machine on the desktop for a brief second which diseapered. I am using Windows XP SP3. I don’t understand what is causing this to happen. I would like to try again but if I remember correctly 2.9 disables system restore. I would definatly need the removal tool because I would be stuck not being able to remove it. Plus I wouldn’t be able to use a restore point.
Any help on fixing the problem with time machine not installing would be good. I get the message “I have to restart the pc to complete installation/un-installation to continue”, then the next screen tels me"ctm setup wizard ended prematuraly because of an error, your system has not been modified" I have no other backup software installed and am running win 7 ultimate, I have used ctm in the past with no problems, thanks in advance, any help welcomed.
