Windows Security Centre

I have done everything but the problem still remains.

Well if Avast and Comodo are having this problem then its a Windows problem not Avast or Comodo. Did you search the Microsoft site?

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/topics/help/wmi.mspx#EQKAC that one?

That deals with script. You need to find an article that deals with your problem.

All experiencing innacurate reports from Windows XP Security Centre (WSC) should go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933062/en-us.

For me, after installing KB933062 to XP SP2, WMI was more stable and no more WSC problems occurred after changing installed security apps.

I understand that this update should be applied when the Repository has been corrected via any of the methods described above, all of which worked for me.

You must of course have Administrator priveledges to manipulate services like WMI.

Then you should go to

and install the User Profile Hive Cleaning Service which will reduce problems on shutdown and restart. I understand this fix has been applied in XP SP3 (and presumably ? in Vista).

Hope this helps.
