Windows security alerts [Closed]

Is there any way possible that windows picks up alpha 2.5 so that it says I have a firewall installed, I hate to see that I have no firewall installed (:SAD)

Not that I know of. The best thing you can do is to disable Windows Security Center as I don’t know any use of it…
Open your start menu, click Run and write ‘services.msc’, then find Security Center and disable it.
Else you can do one of these:

  1. Disable it from watching if you got a Firewall or not.

  2. Open Security Center, click ‘Change on warning messages are displayed’ (I got Swedish version of XP, so not sure it’s what I wrote, but should be something close to it) in the left menu. Then uncheck that it should warn you about not having a firewall.

The important thing is that YOU know it’s working, not that Secuirty Center knows it. And from what I know it’s not good for anything

Yeah, such a thing is an issue of MS changing WSC to recognize CFP. This is not going to happen on an Alpha release software.

Keep in mind, too, that WSC only monitors the user-end of the firewall (ie, the GUI/systray icon) and not the actual firewall itself. It is incapable of doing anything other than that. This is the reason that some users get messages (even with 2.4, which is recognized by WSC) when they login that the FW is not running, is disabled, or is initializing.

This is part of the reason why many users consider WSC to be a useless waste of resources and disable it (as Ragwing gave instructions).
