We are going off topic here though I do agree with you about AOL.
Were we able to resolve your original question about stopping BSOD?

Yes I think so.
If CMF stops an overflow, it will alert me.
I haven’t had a BSOD when dialing out to AOL while using CMF (so far), so I’m not sure if I’ll still have them or not.

The BSOD is to stop your computer having major problems.
Every one experiences the BSOD at some point if it happens with AOL I would be looking at the modem drivers to start with. If it happens again reinstall the driver
Or try AOL auto fix & clean the catch etc. I see you use Norton I did for 5 years until good freeware came on the market it speeded up my computer Norton is a system hog.
