Why restart after an update?

Why do I have to restart my pc after an update has come?
Why do I have to accept an update, shouldn’t be an automatic act?

I can not find any settings to modify these.

Because kernel space drivers can only be updated like this.

That can be set under Configure Program and Virus Database Updates.
