Why do we have Trusted Files if Vendor is Trusted?

Hi,

Why would I have Trusted FIles entries for items from a company that is in Trusted Software Vendors e.g. svchost.exe (Microsoft Corporation), updater.exe (Comodo Security Solutions), nvvsvc.exe (Nvidia Corporation)?

Am I misinterpreting something?

It is for optimization and faster operations guys. Embedded certificate verification takes too much time and once verification is done, the file is added to the trusted list for faster lookup in the future. It can handle millions of files with no problems.
