Router with with an excellent antivirus should be just enough.
What’s the point of eating space with so much used memory with Comodo Internet Security?
Comodo IS really doesn’t use much space or memory, because some people like D+ which tells you what is happening (and a router doesn’t do that), and layered protection is the way to go! (:AGL)
CIS features a firewall, antivirus and a HIPS. You can get a firewall with the router, but a software firewall offers application control, a hardware firewall doesn’t. CIS uses like 6 MB of RAM and (currently) 71.9 MB HDD space. For a modern PC, this is nothing, and absolutely doesn’t affect performance. If we go into theory, and assume that CIS was compatible with Windows 95 and later, even a PC from the late 90s should have no problem running CIS. In my opinion, it’s quite amazing that such a powerful product can use almost no resources at all.

Here is my main problem. I want to permanently shutdown and terminate router’s protection once and for all, because I want Comodo protect me for both INBOUND and outbound attacks.
I tried to do it several times. They told me to go on Bridge mode I did, but than everything went to hell. I wanted to surf but it was obvious I couldn’t surf at all since my entire internet connection was blocked or something like that. I even needed to call the operator to give me new password how something was truly gone wrong, i had to rconfigure it from scratch.
I’m still trying to find a way on how to disable router’s inbound protection so I can use Comodo for it???
Anyone who use router is welcome.
My router is Edimax (Fast Ethernet-whatever that means) ADSL2+ router, AR-7084A.
Every help is welcome.
Don’t disable your router, your taking away another effective layer of protection that does not impact system performance and there are no gains from doing this (unless maybe using p2p).
A router provides vital protection software security cannot provide and visa versa.
