Vista Firewall and Comodo Bo Clean Updater

Excuse my ignorance, but how exactly do I configure vista firewall to allow BoClean updater to travel through it? I cant seem to figure this out.

thank you.

Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Windows Firewall with Advanced Security > Outbound Rules > New Rule.
Then just make a rule for BOC4UPD.exe & BOC423.exe

Ok i tried that and i keep getting the same message:

Can’t find BOC4UPD.EXE to perform autoupdate.

On VISTA, this error means that you need to permit the ‘Updater’ through the Windows firewall settings because the ‘updater’ is being BLOCKED!

Thats the exact message. Now i put the .exe rules for both of them as inbound and outbound-just to try them. does the EXE need to be capitalized? And does one need to be inbound and one outbound?

And thank you for your help thus far!

that sounds like it’s ok, what you did in the firewall.
edit; sorry that was a bit vague, as long as they are both in outbound it’s fine although it wont hurt to have them in inbound as well

one question, do you have UAC turned off

I am not sure to be honest. How do I check that?

Like this: http://www.petri.co.il/disable_uac_in_windows_vista.htm

Thanks a lot guys. That last one did the trick. Awesome!

FYI … they are working on a version that works with UAC turned on
