Hi there! I have installed Comodo Firewall (Version.12.2.2.8012) and my System doesn´t recognize VirusScope. Microsoft Defender allways turns on automatic by itself, causing unwanted behavior.
Has anyone have solve this issue?
Thanks in advance.
VirusScope is not an anti-virus, but a behavior analyzer for detecting for e.g. ransomware.
If you don’t want a real anti-virus, you could install an official fake AV to toggle off Defender.
Btw, is help.comodo.com offline for others too? I get ERR_QUIC_PROTOCOL_ERROR on my side. And when to disable QUIC thingy I get ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH / Unsupported protocol.
Thanks! what would be an official fake AV?
Hmm, that’s odd. Today the search results exclude what I saw previously…
Ditch the fake AV plan. What you need to do is add all affected drives as an exclusion under Defender’s settings. That’s the easy way. That way Defender will not waste processing power on scanning and quarantining files it doesn’t like, without asking your permission.
Comodo online help is up again, here’s about the VirusScope:
Thanks! That´s an elegant way of solving the issue :)!
Is there still the posibility of false positives or interference with the VirusScope though?
Oh VirusScope does have false positives. The “scary” software (cracked software, patchers, hacktools) will make it alert. But at least VS tells you first, asking what to do.
