I have recently freshly installed CIS 3.9.95478.509
During installation I was given the opportunity to do a complete scan which completed successfully.
Now when I try to scan, CIS trys to do a Virus Database Update first, which is understandable. However, this fails with the following error “Update failed. Error code 0x800705aa. Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service”
I am running XP SP3.
Please can anyone suggest what I should do to cure this?
I got this “Insufficient Resources” message too, which would then prevent any ability to scan, requiring a reboot.
I don’t get it much anymore, instead for the last week I’ve been getting randomly-chosen AV scans that just freeze up and kill the machine. Some scans work fine. Some bring the machine to its knees. (See my post on a related thread here).
Win XP SP3, minimum number of apps (I like simplicity), CIS 3.9.95478.509
Can anyone fix this? The CIS AV scanner seems seriously messed up, and it’s completely unacceptable to bring the system down!
I’ll try disabling DEP for cmdagent.exe, as the sticky post says, and see if that helps.
