Virtual shortcuts vs Always Sandbox

If I run an application via its virtual shortcut, the Restriction column in Killswitch says “Fully Virtualized.” If I add a program to the Sandbox in advanced settings, the Restriction column in Killswitch says whatever restriction level, such as Limited, I chose for that program. What does this mean? Does this mean using virtual shortcuts is more secure than adding programs to the Sandbox in advanced settings? Are programs run using their virtual shortcuts fully virtualized while programs added to the Sandbox in advanced settings are virtualized but are allowed certain rights based on the Restriction level used?
