Virtual KVM

Hi,

I’m running CPF 2.4.18.184 on a Win 2003 production server. The server is located in a data center which is about 3 hours drive from my normal office (in other words, I do not get easily physical access to the machine)

The other day, I installed some Windows updates and after rebooting, the machine was no longer reachable…

I had a technician sent on site, and he reported the following:
“It appeared that the firewall has noticed various changed system files and was awaiting confirmation that these files were modified on purpose. Due to this, it disallowed traffic on the network interface.”

I’m very surprised because it is not the first time I’m applying soft opdates and CPF never reacted this way…

This brings several questions:

  1. Is this the “normal” behaviour of CPF ? (I have never experienced this)
  2. Is there any way within CPF to implement a sort of virtual KVM? In other words, I would like to define one or several IPs from which connection would ALWAYS be possible, and to which CPF would send the requests for acknowledgement of system files changes (in general, any request for acknowledgement)

Cheers
