I updated to version 3.0.14.276 via the patch that was on the update page, anyhow I don’t see any difference so can’t tell apart from checking the about screen if it has changed. I wanna know how to tell 100 per cent that I have the current version and not a weird mix of both?
Another thing is I have no firewall alerts on the view firewall events tab in the firewall, how do you get firewall events? B.T.W I can see past events in the log if thats any help to anybody?
I think you would be better placed, if you were download the full 3.0.14.276 version and not the patch. Them remove the existing installation, making sure you have eliminated all traces from your hard disks and registry. Once done, restart and install the full .276
Data for cfp is usually stored in several locations on you hard disk:
C:\Program Files\Comodo\Firewall
C:\Documents and Settings\All users\Application Data\Comodo\Firewall Pro
C:\Documents and Settings\Your name\Application Data\Comodo\Firewall Pro
In the registry data is stored in:
HKLM\System\Software\Comodo\Firewall pro
You need to make sure these areas are free of data.
Before you uninstall, remember to delete all the My protected registry keys and My Protected Com Interface keys in the Defense+ tab in the firewall. that way the firewall won’t be protecting its keys no more and when you uninstall all them keys will get removed
and last by not least when you reboot after uninstalling, the comodo/firewall folder in C:\program files or if you chose to install it somewhere else most likely will still remain but you can safely delete the firewall folder prior to installing your fresh copy
