I am trying to allow allow file modifications to %userprofile\Downloads* in defence plus. I appears not to work (See screen shot). It keeps on asking again and again.
I also notice when the rule is stored in the registry it has:
DeviceName C:\users\theo\Downloads*
FileName %userprofile%\Downloads*
Will this cause a problem for other users?

CFP3 can’t support %userprofile% variable.
Maybe only support %windir%, %temp%, \Device\HarddiskVolume…
you can see this…this is old problem…

Not all users use single account, Multi-Users use the same userprofile Path.
My File Groups->Temporary Files
X:"profile path from the CFP installation user account"\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files*
My File Groups->Startup Folders
X:"profile path from the CFP installation user account"\Start Menu\Programs\Startup*
Correct Path:
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files*
%USERPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup*
