Updater failure...

I am running an HP G60 laptop, with its standard software stack (AKA junkware) and Vista Home premium SP2 with AVG 8.5 and Adware anniversary edition (I know, I am updating everything).

I have comodo firewall 3.13.121240.574 on this particular machine, but the problem seems to be generalized. I have a couple of other machines (Dell 530, emachines and a couple of build your owns ranging from Win 2000 to Win 7 with a couple of them dual booted with Ubuntu Linux and Mint) with Comodo firewall installed and each one has this problem. I have tried shuffling around to a couple of other AV solutions (as well as other components in the software stack), and used your combined solution as well, thinking that they may be the problem to no avail. I can’t pinpoint a problem nothing changes the updater failure.

I am trying to settle on a solution that works for me so I can buy it. I have tried Norton and a number of other solutions with mixed or bad results.

These machines (all of them) won’t update, (yes, I made sure I had a connection, and used the onboard diagnostics for the program) so I have been been just re-installing to stay current.

What happens is:

I open the comodo program and click on check for updates and the updater window opens,

Then I click on start and another window opens that says that there are updates available.

I click next and the udpate says it is preparing to do it’s magic.

Then a box appears with error 113 and states that I have a missing internet connection even with a live connection running in the background.

This even happens when the automated update reminder tries to update.

Yes exactly the same problem here. Installed Comodo yesterday and I already regret it !
Why do you bother releasing poor software like this ?

Win XP Pro SP2 running as admin on an old AMD Athlon 3.2g.

Same error code trying to REINSTALL and update ver 3.0.14.276 from a failed 4.1 update today. It says my internet connection failed during the download of an available update for ver 3.0.14.276 and did it in the same place, multiple times. The internet connection was active and working fine but the updater stopped in exactly the same place.

I got here because the new ver 4 failed to complete its install today for some reason. Tried multiple times, so I reinstalled an older version (above) to get a firewall working again. It installed fine but when I tried to update the ver 3.0.14.276, I keep getting the same error and code. “Fails” at 9% each time with the 113 error code. I know the internet conn is good because I tried it twice more while I am typing this message.

All was fine before this exercise. What’s up?
