Update

I installed CIS yesterday and could not update it. When am i try to do it i recive errors such as:
Error: 0x80072ee7 - The server name or address could not be resolved

What can i do to fix this situation? This is server unavailable (down) or problem with my computer?

PS: Windows XP 32-bit. Windows firewall disable, hosts file is clean, other antivirus is absent.

Have your tried rebooting? If not you should try that first.

If that doesn’t work then I recommend you temporarily* switch your DNS to something like Google’s DNS or Comodo’s SecureDNS, and then reboot and see if that fixes the problem.

If that doesn’t work then you could either try waiting for a response on whether the servers are down or up, or you could try re-installing.

*I say temporarily since it’s up to you to decide whether you want to keep using them or not.

I tried to reinstall twice - no effect.

I cannot understand what happened.

I checked my computer to viruses on off-line scanners - all clean. (CureIt, Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool,)

Hmm, Have you tried changing the DNS servers to something else? I didn’t get a clear answer so I thought I’d ask again.

However you do get it resolved when pinging so I don’t see how that could be the issue. :-\

I think someone with more knowledge will have to help you because I’m out of ideas, sorry. :frowning:

Please try reinstalling by following the advice I give in this post. Note that running the removal tools is very important as if there was a bad installation, as it appears there was, this will remove any remnants.
