Well people, I think (it worked for me) I may have found the solution…
Had the dreaded error since since updating to newest version (via Comodo’s built in update service). Even if the first thing I did after rebooting the computer was trying to update virus database, I still got the error.
I then tried a clean install, meaning:
1- Uninstall CIS;
2- Reboot;
3- Reinstall CIS;
4- Reboot;
5- Update virus database;
6- Reboot;
After step 6, when trying to once again to update virus database or run virus scanner, I still got the dreaded error.
Solution: Restart the COMODO Internet Security Helper Service. Once I did that, everything ran normally.
Hope this can help you.

Restart the COMODO Internet Security Helper Service
thanks for the tip, sometimes when u use the diagnostic feature it does the same but it’s still a bug…
Yep. It’s a bug… The cmdagent seems to turn off randomly for unknown reasons.
For example, following what I wrote in response here in this forum, and confident that the problem was solved, I started a manual antivirus scan for the whole comupter. The scan started and continued until it reached about 398 000 files checked. Then it stalled. I tried stopping the scan but couldn’t do anything. Stopping the CFP process was to no avail either…
I then checked the state of the COMODO I.S.H.S. (cmdagent) and found it had stopped. I started the service and then could close the scan window. Then I relaunched the scan. This time it stalled when it got to approx 394 000 files (stalled on a different file than previously). I checked the COMODO I.S.H.S. again and low and behold, it had once again stopped ! What the …??? I started it back up, closed the scan window and left things at that.
Guess we’re all waiting for COMODO to fix this. Anyone know of a deadline ??? Also, does anyone know if this happens in the PRO version ???
You could at least link to the original thread if the post I wrote did help you, and not claim it for yourself. Oh well…
fOrTy_7: My most sincere apologies. :-[
It’s true that in the way I wrote my post, it would seem that I’M trying to take credit for YOUR find. The credit is YOURS, not mine !. My intent was merely to point out that, albeit it’s obvious in Task Manager (Services tab) that cmdAgent is associated to the I.S.H.S, it isn’t so obvious when you open Services through Computer Management Console…
That said, again, apologies. :-[
I installed CIS Free yesterday, March 20 2010. I manage to scan 3,854,795 files and then it gives the 0x800705aa message.
I notice this bug has been dragging on for some time. Surely there is a fix by now?
???
I got REALLY tired of waiting for a fix. >:( >:( >:(
Finally, I ditched Comodo altogether…
Installed Avast. Using Windows 7 Firewall & Defender.
So far so good… :-[
For everyone having this issue, can you please verify your Windows Eventlogs and check to see if in “system” log there is any message about cmdagent or cmdhelp etc
normally it should record a crash message there, if you post them here it would make it much more easy for the dev’s to fix these issues.
Event viewer System logs show this message every time (2 events below):

Just to let everyone know that I am using XP and had the same issue after updating and installing the latest version.
I have spent many hours trying to resolve this issue and read all the threads.Every solution mentioned has been tried with no joy.
It seems that the full computer scan stalls and freezes everytime on the same file but I cannot find this file on my computer !!!I believe that it may be something to do with a piece of Roxio software as this is always shown in the event viewer.
Any way I have now returned to version 3.14.130099.587 without the annoying sandbox and the scan works fine.
I hope a fix can be found and wait with baited breath.
BARRY
Hi, all,
Please use the latest product version and updated the database to the newest, and then try again, if still repro, please contact me.
Thanks,
Kun from AV Engine team, China
I just installed the latest CIS and all I get is the dreaded system resources error 705aaa. Can’t update my AV database. Cmdagent loads and then disappears again. Going back to CIS 3 is no option as the nagballoons about CIS 4 were my reason for updating in the first place.
I find that this problem was first flagged six months ago. It is now June 29th. Apparently nothing constructive has happened.
I’ve bloody had it.
Online Armor and Avast for me.
I have the same problem. Scan hangs forever. If you try to stop it you get the Error code 0x800705aa message.

Are you running “My computer” or “Critical areas” scan?
And can you verify the Windows Eventlogs to see if you can find a crash message for cmdagent.exe?
verify in your parameter for run service ,that your profil1 (per default) is active and run the service . thats all
THx for all your clue, that lead me to the solution
