Unable to DCC send using mIRC

Now that I allowed port 6669 UDP & TCP, isn’t it as bad as allowing all random ports? What’s the difference if I have one open ports or 50k open ports, hackers can still get in. My knowledge is limited, enlighten me if I’m wrong.

If you use random ports you have to let incoming connections on all ports and this means that all ports will be open.
When you put one port, only one program has access on that port. If a hacker use that specific port he will have access on your mirc client and not at vital processes of your pc.

Hmmm… In the Firewall I didn’t set if it’s mIRC or not, I just set 6669-6671 to be open.

Ohhhh, since mIRC also has 6669-6671 open, the only thing he can do is go to IRC. I got it.
