two machines networked via crossover cable

First of all, apologies if this question has been asked many a time before, in an unlimited number of flavours. I have had a quick look for a solution, but it’s all Greek to me.

I have two machines, connected via an ethernet (crossover) cable. The one with Comodo installed on it, appears to be blocking the other.

The errors are along the lines of “inbound policy violation”.

I’ve tried defining a new trusted network via the tools, but only my wireless adapter is listed as a zone. Note that on the summary page, both Ethernet adapters are identified, along with the wireless adapter.

I’m pretty stumped.

Can anyone help me?

G’day,

You should manually create a zone for your ethernet connection by opening CFP and clicking on SECURITY - TASKS - ADD/REMOVE/MODIFY A ZONE. Give it a meaningful name and supply the start and end addresses that encompass the IP addresses of the two PCs. Now, when you go to DEFINE A TRUSTED NETWORK, you’ll be able to select the newly created zone that applies to your internal LAN.

Hope this helps,
Ewen
