The meaning of "{*}" in protected registry keys

I found a key in protected registry keys:

\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar{}

Can anybody explain what is the meaning of “{*}”?

  • = wildcard. So, all CLSID’s or MSIE toolbar components.
