He told me to tell you Mike that he’s sleeping… ;D
His kid was sick all night, so he had to sleep during the day.
Mine’s been sick for three days (stomach virus), so we haven’t been sleeping at all. Confusion is now my regular mental state. ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? Hope they all get better soon!
What would really rock, AOwl (but probably beyond the scope of what can be done for the sig block) is if each button would correspondingly download/link for that specific app, rather than just the whole thing being one link. And rest assured, I know absolutely nothing about how that would be done, here or anywhere, so I’m just talking er, typing, out of one side of my mouth er, hand. (:WIN)
If it’s not, it will be, no doubt!
If you look a bit up in an earlier post i did in this thread, you have a link to what you ask for…
Unfortunately you can’t have it in your signature…
You can click the lizard or my name too…
Thanks AOwl ;). I hope Paul’s son is better soon.
Mike
OYes I saw that. I saved the page late yesterday afternoon, but didn’t really look at it then (s’why I saved it). Then I forgot to go back to it today. I blame the confusion. ??? So I’ve just been there and clicked to my heart’s content.
Whee, what fun!
So sad it can’t happen in the sig, too.
LOL! ;D
Don’t drink to much bourbon tonight…
I found something that makes Gimp look a little more like Photoshop called Gimpshop. 8)
You can download it here: http://www.gimpshop.net/
As Aowl said, it’s no competition. I used this idea as a test for gimp. I wanted an idea and Aowl gave me one by making a radio face. I wasn’t striving for better than Aowls, it was a new challenge for me in Gimp. Much like Aowl, I love graphics work, and it seems he and I both share this interest and don’t compete. The way I see it , everyone has their own style, of course if something is ■■■■■■ looking it’s obvious then who would have a better look, but Aowl is very good with graphics and it’s fun just to work off eachother’s ideas etc…I am equally impressed by those who simply put a lot of work into something, even if not the best graphics, but the fact there was thought behind it. That said, both Aowl and myself know our ability to create things is getting better each time. I won’t win an award for having anything better, nor will he, so it’s for learning and relaxation. Of course there are many out there who would put us to shame but maybe one day we will be those people. Me with Gimp, him with Photoshop, we’ll be two experts in two different programs, lol. Ok a bit of a dream maybe but you never know. Here are two files, one when I started attending the comodo forum and one currently. Just to show progress. A quick note, the reason there aren’t so many buttons is because it’s a cd player

Hi Aowl, a word of warning on Gimpshop. It crashes systems, or won’t run at all. Also, it keeps implanting hooks into msn messenger , etc… i have used and just tried it again. Same thing. Also , my msn messenger is no longer found. I did a restore and the Gimpshop files are still there and won’t leave. I reinstalled Gimp and said to heck with it. This is what happened quite some time ago and did yet again. I don’t personally trust it but if anyone else uses it, let me know. Maybe it’ll work for them.

Here Mike…

I looked at “homebutton.png”
I don’t know if it’s just me Paul, but do you live in Africa… :o :
;D
Nice work(progress).
Keep dreaming… i am…
lol. No , I don’t live in africa. I made that globe using sphere and taking a map cut out. I just stuck the home sign wherever it went. I’m dreaming now, i got my son’s cold and feel like a cowpie in a stampede.
Paul
LOL!
Hope you get better.
It’s a good reason to take it easy, so you can just sit at your computer. ;D
Yeah, I finally get time to just sit undisturbed. Unfortunately the brain doesn’t function well when you have a cold and everything is floating. Well, not only that, I have to have surgery, sinus surgery, tonsils<which my son almost bled to death from last year , adnoids, and something else taken out. Wahoo. fun. I have felt like I have a constant flu for months and it’s due to alergies. But now, I have a cold as well. My posts may get a bit stranger “than usual” during this time. :o
Paul
Your posts can’t be much stranger than they are…
;D
The best solution might be to just cut off the entirely head…
;D
Seriously, I wish you all the best and a good health.
Thanks Paul, that’s better.
Aowl: Thanks, I think? I tried cutting off the head but the spoon is too dull. ???
Mike: NP

Paul,
I started Gimp the other day… Do you really have to have all three screens open in order to have all the features they offer at hand? Or is there some way to have all that in only one screen? (Screenshot attached to explain what I mean.)

I sit here laughing at you. Why? Because I can, that’s why. No seriously, I was chuckling because that was the first thought that ran through my head when I first opened Gimp too. Down the line , I grew to depend on all three windows and use each now. The one on the right gives you some very valuable quick options when working with layers, history, etc…You can close the one on the right and by all means readjust the one on the left and notice you can work with say 800X600 but use percentage at bottom of work window, like drop down to 66% etc…

Can’t you dock them together, so you just have one window? If you minimize the image, does the other ones follow?
