Too bad Vette doesn’t add a poll… :THNK

Who the hell made this into a poll…I never wanted it to be a poll. I didn’t make this thread to be an A vs B comparison. I merely copied and pasted an article I found. The article was entitled “Best Security Suites for 2009”. So that’s what i made the subject title be. I didn’t make this a subject " So what do you think the best security suite is?". Sorry but I did not do such a ■■■■ thing. How can you have a poll like this in a Comodo site. Duh. Can you say biased. You are all a bunch of idiots who did this. If you don’t trust pc mag then simply go to About.com and CNET.com. Both of them also highly rate NIS 2009. AV Comparatives gave Norton 2009 a 99% score.
So I guess all these articles are ■■■■■■■■■. Whatever. No wonder I dumped Comodo. BTW its nice not to be bugged when I want to install something. Hell even 3 said he wouldn’t install Comodo on his families pc’s in a pm to me.

The average score from those articles is either 4.5 stars or 93%. So I guess NIS 2009 sucks then. I guess reviews mean ****.

What mainly sucks here is the tone, Vettetech. You should avoid personal attacks.

Well my thread was personally attacked and changed without my knowledge or consent. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Look Vett, nobody’s saying that NIS 2009 is bad. Just NIS is ranked too high compared to other products. Avira or Kaspersky or Avast never got 4.5 on PC Mag. They don’t even get 4. You wanna say that NIS is that much better ? Don’t think so.
And stop offending people. U jump around like a frog. Somehow you never noticed that CFP is intrusive while you were using it. 88) The best things are those that U use at the time ???
Keep your tone down. You’re not the only one here who understands a bit about AV’s and firewalls.

Yes, someone changed it without you authorizing it. However, that gives you no right to perform personal attacks. You know the rules. You should be able to bring up the problem without attacking.

I bought NIS 2009 for a reason after testing it and thats where I am staying. So what you are saying Comm is that all those articles are fake and Norton’s score in AV Comparatives is fake. Norton doesn’t deserve high scores from what you say. Avast sucks by the way. Have you seen Matt’s new review on it? Also see his review on NIS 2009 which he voted awesome.

Don’t point me at videos that I have showed you okay. So Avast sucks now ? And what were you saying before ? “I have Avast installed on all my famillies PC’s” Matt doesn’t test the prevention of the AV. He said that in his latest review. And if you follow Matt everywhere - how come your not using PC Tools ?
I’m not saying that NIS 2009 is bad. It’s just there’s too much hype about it. Pulse Updates ? 5 minutes is impposible time limit to prepare a quality signature. Thay are reserve updates.
And have you seen how long took Norton to install on an infested system ? Much longer than those 2 minutes. Much longer than a lot others too.
Norton 2009 is great, but stop being such a fanboy of everything you use at a particular moment. Looks so stupid.

Why would I buy PC Tools if I just bought NIS 2009. As far as my Families pc’s. I bought a 3 license user from Symantec. It covers my desktop, laptop and my Mothers pc. I had my Girlfriend,Aunt,Cousins and my Sisters all go out and buy NIS 2009. They are all happy with it.

This doesn’t look like a poll to me, It looks like an argument. PLS STOP… Or this thread will be closed.

As for Security Suites: NIS 2009.

Josh

As an all-in-one security app, I chose Norton Internet Security 2009.

My vote is not based on any reviews, but as my own experience. I have tested a few (not detection or prevention) just to see how they would go.

Well, after I just installed Avira I had to uninstall it because it totally killed my internet connection. It was related to the Webguard thing.

As always, Kaspersky products only result in one thing on my system - BSODs, and a lot of them, if I insist on trying it.

Eset Smart Security, well, the antivirus uses 100% of my CPU, and as always, and as far as I know, Eset still has no idea why it happens.

Bitdefender, I tested version 2009 since early beta, but too bloated. It is light and has a great GUI, but if they lose the registry cleaner, etc, then it would be a great product. Why should I pay for a product that I can get for free. The registry cleaner, that is.

Comodo, well, D+ makes a hell of a work, still, the AV still has a long way ahead.

These are the ones I have tested, so, based on that I can say that the one that performed better was NIS 2009. The only issue I have found (in Norton Antivirus 2009) is that it won’t automatically update. Still am trying to figure out why, and will ask to Symantec why it happens. It is set to automatically update, so it shoulld. No firewall is blocking it.

But NIS 2009 is without any doubt a go. :-TU

Hey Dark are you getting any errors with Live Update? Can you run Live Update manually? Updates are a known issues if you visit the forum and Symantec is working on a patch.

I don’t get any errors, but each time I open Norton antivirus 2009, I realized that the latest update has occured, for example, 16 hours ago, and it is an update I did, 'cos it never automatically updates. Not much of a hassle, though. I just need to remember to update it. ;D

I voted for Avira Antivir Security Suite I didn’t vote for CIS for now chose I know that CIS is not the best yet!
And no one sayed that NIS 09 is bad just Kaspersky Internet Security is too low and Trend Micro, ZoneAlarm internet security is too high but they clearly suck.

But Norton is now getting much better they haw learned their lesson after sucking many years.

I voted for both Avira and Kaspersky

The thing about Vet is that he changes opinion so often that makes people want to tease him hehe I personally don’t trust norton. It’s protection is as basic as a list. But that’s my opinion. And like I said before magazine reviews aren’t to be trusted either. Norton is just trying to get more hype. But only time will tell that Norton still sucks.

Magazines aren’t just the ones saying that Symantec Norton’s 2009 line products are great. av-comparatives and others say it detects a lot of malware. av-comparatives gives 99% of malware detection.

Until anyone else shows real and I do mean real, not bugus, results, that say different, I’ll believe in it.
